Our bodies often reveal what words can't express. While first date jitters are not unusual, notice how you feel after spending a few dates with someone. Do you feel at ease or on edge? Do you feel anxious or calm? If you’re feeling on edge, take some time to reflect about where this feeling is coming from as well as whether you’ve experienced this same feeling before and if so, with whom.

There's beauty in allowing friendships to ebb and flow naturally, without the pressure to force a connection when it no longer resonates.

When you stop trying to force a friendship, you create space to prioritize quality over quantity, nurture the connections that feel the most authentic, and gracefully release those that no longer feel aligned.

Your intuition is your dating superpower. Don't silence that inner voice; it's there to guide you. Whether it's a subtle whisper or a loud alarm bell, listen closely to what your intuition is telling you. It knows when something feels off, even if everything seems perfect on the surface. So, before you say yes to that next date, take a moment to check in with yourself.

The way someone else reacts to your boundaries early on can be very telling.
A preview of what’s to come can be obtained by seeing how the other person responds when you set a boundary or they don’t get what they want from you. Do they listen to your feedback or get defensive? Do they have a respectful conversation with you about it or do they shut down?

Instead of playing hard to get, consider being honest about your interest in the other person. When you’re honest about your feelings, the right person for you will be on the same page.

By practicing authenticity and vulnerability at a pace you’re comfortable with, you have more of a chance of developing a meaningful connection with someone who is getting to know the real you.

This doesn’t have to be some big declaration of feelings. Even telling your date you had a great time, you’re enjoying getting to know them, or you enjoy their company is a great start.
