It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news that Matt Siemer, Executive Director of Mobile Care Chicago, passed away over the weekend as a result of a tragic car accident.

Matt was more than a leader, he was the heart of Mobile Care Chicago. His 13 years of vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment to equity in health care shaped this organization and touched countless lives across Chicago and beyond. Through his transformative leadership, MCC expanded its reach, strengthened its impact, and remained steadfast in its mission to bring free, comprehensive, specialty care directly to communities who need it most.

Those of us who had the privilege of working alongside Matt knew him as a thoughtful, principled, and deeply caring person. He was the ultimate problem-solver, endlessly curious, and kept a good sense of humor, even in difficult times. He believed fiercely in our patients, our staff, and the power of meeting people where they are. His legacy lives on in every family we serve.

We are deeply grateful for the partnership and trust you shared with Matt and with Mobile Care Chicago. Your support makes possible the work he cared so deeply about, and it is because of his leadership, and partners like you, that MCC continues to reach communities where care is often out of reach.

Mobile Care Chicago’s Board of Directors and leadership team are working closely together and programs and services will continue. Our mission remains unchanged, and we are committed to honoring Matt’s legacy by carrying this work forward with the same dedication and purpose he embodied.

DID YOU KNOW???

In 1998, four Chicago-area physicians resolved to combine their resources to counteract the health disparity responsible for whole neighborhoods ravaged by substandard asthma care and hundreds of needless childhood fatalities.

The result was Mobile C.A.R.E. Foundation (Mobile C.A.R.E.), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care to Chicagoland children diagnosed with the chronic disease asthma.

Miles for Mobile Care kicks off October 24th!

🏃‍♀️🏃Miles for MCC is a digital, four-week fundraising journey that celebrates the power of access. This year we're walking The Road Less Traveled, and reflecting on the everyday work our mobile clinics do to bring free, high-quality care into neighborhoods where barriers are high and providers are few.

🦷 We go where others can’t: school parking lots, neighborhood blocks, community spaces, anywhere kids need us most.

✨ This year, we’re raising $20,000 to launch a new Dental Van, expanding our reach and keeping more kids in class and out of pain.

We are so grateful! Thank you America's ToothFairy, Crest and Walgreens for making sure kids can maintain their healthy smiles between appointments on the Dental Van 🚐

Our partners at Mobile Care Chicago asked us to thank Crest and Walgreens for their recent toothpaste donation that will help them serve more families that might otherwise go without. It's vital for kids to brush every day to prevent cavities and grow up with a smile they can be confident to share!

Another year, another round up! 💫

We have been very fortunate in years past to drum up a lot of support for this campaign, and we felt hopeful that we could count on this community to show up again.

And boy were we right!

Last year, we pinched ourselves for attracting a record breaking 239 donors, and going from an initial goal of $15,000 to a total of $37,212.

This year, we’re thrilled to share that thanks to the support of 428 donors, we have surpassed our initial goal of $20,000 by more than double, raising $42,240.

So this week, as we count all the things we’re grateful for, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your enthusiastic support.

Over the past 25 years, Mobile Care Chicago has grown and transformed in remarkable ways. From humble beginnings, we've expanded our reach and capabilities to serve more communities and provide critical healthcare services to children who need it most.

We’ve called many garages home, each one a stepping stone toward greater impact. But for the first time in 25 years, we're operating out of THREE garages simultaneously!

Our Root Street and Lake County garages function as operational hubs for MCC's core services, but we are extremely excited about the goings-on at our newest garage.

Our newest garage on Lake St now houses MCC’s Flex Van and UIC/COIP/MCC’s harm reduction clinic. This garage is also known as the Community Dispatch, home to clinics of MCC partner orgs like Humboldt Park Health. The Community Dispatch is a pillar of MCC’s Community Health Incubator, where MCC will assist community organizations in scaling their services to a mobile model-of-care. The Community Dispatch provides a safe, clean, temperature regulated space for orgs with existing medical clinics, as well as clinic maintenance resources.
