Stress doesn’t go away with age, but the way we manage it usually changes.

Over time, many of us develop healthy ways of dealing with stress, stronger support systems, and a clearer sense of what truly matters. Those tools can make a meaningful difference.

Stress management is important at every stage of life. Building resilience, staying connected, and asking for help when you need it are all powerful reminders to stay stress-free. Read more from BlackDoctor.org:

We’re grateful to be working with TGEL Enterprises and Morales Consulting as our Development & External Affairs consulting partners at the Center for Better Aging. Since October 2025, they’ve supported our efforts around strategy, storytelling, partnerships, and fundraising—always rooted in our commitment to dignity, community, and whole-person aging on Chicago’s South Side.

Derrick M. Fleming Jr. and Alberto Morales will be working alongside us as we build sustainable growth, visibility, and long-term impact for the older adults and communities we serve.

This Black History Month, we honor the people, stories, and strength that shape our community, especially our Black elders, whose lives and leadership continue to guide us.

At the Center for Better Aging, we are rooted in Chicago’s South Side and committed to caring for all people, while addressing the inequities that have impacted Black communities for generations.

We also recognize that meaningful impact means investing in the communities we serve. In 2025, 55% of CBA’s spending went to Illinois BEP-certified organizations, exceeding our 25% target every month, and reinforcing our commitment to partnership, inclusion, and shared progress.

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to age with dignity, respect, and access to quality care. We’re proud to do this work alongside the community we serve.
