Two weeks ago, CWHC traveled to the state capitol for Advocacy Day! As part of the Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (IAFCC), our staff met with legislators to advocate for funding in 2027. We worked alongside Mobile Care Chicago, Fenix Family Health Center, and Chi-Care to secure co-sponsors for the bill that allocates $15 million to IAFCC and the thousands of people that member clinics serve.

CWHC shares deep gratitude to IAFCC and other member clinics for their partnership and advocacy to support health care access throughout Illinois. We also extend huge thanks to Senator Mike Simmons, pictured here, for agreeing to co-sponsor this bill!

This upcoming fiscal year, up to 500,000 Illinoisans may lose Medicaid coverage due to federal budget cuts. IAFCC clinics are needed now more than ever. Take action by calling your representatives and asking them to co-sponsor SB3519 in the Senate or HB5117 in the House.
