Preventative toxin for the win. An ounce of prevention has always been a pound of cure. While we need more studies, the early research supports this idea. If you’re fair skinned, start looking at your forehead in your late 20s. That’s where the first lines often start. If you’re more melanated, late 30s/early 40s is more like it.

Another day, another round of misinformation about sunscreen and vitamin D levels on the clock app. Yes melanin-rich skin Carrie’s an inherent SPF of 8-13 but it’s insufficient to protect against premature aging, discoloration and skin cancer. SPF should be 30-50 so yes you need sunscreen. Yes people with melanin-rich skin have lower vitamin D levels. But that same melanin makes it more difficult to convert vitamin D from the sun to useful forms, so supplementation is necessary to restore levels to normal. WEAR SUNSCREEN - unless you want to look discolored and old and develop skin cancer. CHECK VITAMIN D LEVELS - and take a supplement if levels are low. There. I ifixed it.
