Not sure if therapy is the right choice? Afraid of committing to longterm treatment? Looking for a second opinion on your next steps? Sick of sitting on waitlists?

Our Assessment and Referral Program is designed to simplify the process and connect you with the right care—all in just one session. When you call us, you’ll be linked to a licensed therapist and scheduled for an assessment within 48 hours, and often we can schedule you for the next day.

Our therapists will meet with you for 1 hour, provide clinical feedback, and offer their suggestion for your care plan. We believe in treating the mind and body as a whole, so this might be a suggestion for something other than talk therapy, such as OT/PT, Nutrition Counseling, Med Management, or Holistic Therapies.

Receive a printed list of referral options after your assessment, and move forward with a clear path to uplift your health. Our Assessment and Referral program is open for kids 6+ and adults.

✨ Therapist Thursday Spotlight ✨

Meet Lauren Barry, LPC—movie buff, animal lover, and the kind of therapist who might drop a song lyric in session if it feels just right.

Lauren works with teens, young adults, and adults navigating identity, trauma, anxiety, and life’s curveballs. Whether you’re adjusting to a new phase of life or just trying to understand yourself a little better, she’s here to meet you exactly where you are—fidget toys and all.

In Lauren’s office, comfort is key. Blankets? Coloring pages? Bracelet-making supplies? Yes, please. Therapy is tough work, and she’s all about making sure your space feels safe, collaborative, and uniquely you.

🧋✨ Therapist Spotlight: Lishan Rosen, LSW

Looking for a therapist ready to work with young kids and teens on stress and life changes? Look no further!

Lishan works with clients age 4 and up. She loves LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse clients on her caseload, and she specializes in supporting clients processing life transitions, low self esteem, anxiety management, and body image concerns.

In her own words, " I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can be authentically themselves and can feel seen and heard. In addition to doing the hard work, therapy can also come with laughter and possibly be fun!"

When not at the office, Lishan can be found reading a book with her cats for company, solving a jigsaw puzzle, or playing in a community band.

Interested in scheduling? Click the link in our bio or email Intake@UrbanWellnessCounseling.com to get on her books. Lishan can accept clients in person at our Old Irving Park office, or via video.

🧋✨ Therapist Spotlight: Angela Nino, LSW

Looking for a therapist who brings out the best in you? Look no further than Angela!

Angela works with adults who are looking for someone to help them discover inner strengths. Her favorite clients are those who identity as neurodivergent, trauma survivors, LGBTQIA+, or as first responders. A former first responder herself, she knows the mental load it can take to process that trauma in day to day life.

In her own words, "You know more about yourself than I ever will. I help you to use your strengths with traditional talk therapy, and skills in staying present in the moment and regulating emotions. I use humor, artistic expression, games, and play to help you tolerate and process what life is throwing at you."

Angela is accepting clients both in person at our Sauganash location and virtually for all clients in Illinois.
