Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology

Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology Our mission is to increase access to trauma-informed, evidence-based, mindfulness-infused, and LGBTQ+ affirmative psychotherapy and psychological services.

Trauma, depression, anxiety, and other problems can have a tremendous impact on our ability to be productive and happy. Navigating the process of finding a therapist you can trust, who accepts your insurance or is affordable, and who you “click” with can add additional layers of stress when you are already struggling. Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology seeks to provide as much support as possible during this process whether we end up working together or not. When you first reach out to us, therapists who work on our intake team will review your information and help match you with the best clinician for your needs. Intake will verify your insurance benefits or help connect you with reduced fee services if necessary. Once you are matched with someone, the clinician will reach out to arrange your first meeting and answer any questions you might have. All services are by appointment only.

Change is inevitable, but navigating it doesn't have to be a solo journey for your child.

Transitions—big or small—can be challenging for young minds to process. This insightful article explores how caregivers can provide mindful support to help children build resilience during life's shifts.

Transitions can stir big feelings in young children, even when nothing is “wrong.” Steady, emotionally present caregiving helps them build resilience through everyday change.

As we approach the new year, many of us feel the pressure to "fix" ourselves through resolutions. But what if we approached change with mindfulness and self-compassion instead of criticism?

This article explores how integrating Buddhist psychology into your intentions can create lasting, meaningful shifts in your life. At our practice, we believe that growth is most effective when it is trauma-informed and affirming of your unique identity.

Whether you're looking for individual support or a group setting to explore these themes, therapy can help you navigate the transition into 2026 with intention and ease.

This year, supercharge your resolutions by focusing on a critical but invisible aspect of lasting change: beliefs. When we tackle our beliefs, change happens naturally.

Ever wonder why you can feel like a capable adult one moment, and then feel like a teenager again the second you walk through your childhood door? 🏠

It is common for old family patterns to resurface during the holidays. This isn't a sign that your growth has vanished; it’s actually your nervous system recognizing a familiar environment and reverting to the coping strategies that once helped you belong.

This article explores "predictive processing" and offers mindful ways to observe these patterns without judgment. Remember, noticing the pattern is the first step toward choosing a different response.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by family dynamics this season, our trauma-informed therapists are here to support you in staying grounded.

You know you've changed, but family gatherings pull you right back into old patterns. Here's why your brain does this and what to do about it.

It’s easy to feel like a “mistake” or a “relapse” in your habits means you’re back at square one. But in reality, every slip-up is just *data.*

It tells you where you need more support, where your boundaries are, and how much you’ve already learned.

You aren’t “failing”—you’re refining your path. 💙 It may not always feel true, but every mistake is progress.

The winter holidays can bring joy, but they often bring a unique set of stressors—from family dynamics to year-end pressures. ❄️

We love this concept of the "Fuse Box Effect" as a tool for navigating this season. Just as a fuse box prevents a power overload, mindfulness practices can help create a safety "pause" between a trigger and your reaction. This article explores how strengthening that internal circuit breaker can help you move through the holidays with more grounding, regulation, and self-compassion.

A helpful read for anyone looking to support their nervous system this month.

Between family and finances, the end of the year can be a time of heightened emotion. The fuse-box effect can create a space between impulse and action.
