This Black Women’s History Month, we honor the bold legacy of Shirley Chisholm 💜✊🏾

She didn’t wait for a seat at the table - she built her own. Unapologetically “unbought and unbossed,” she redefined what leadership looks like and who it belongs to.

Her legacy reminds us: representation is power, and courage creates change. 💫

When doors closed, she built her own path, crossing oceans to chase a dream the world said wasn’t hers.

Her legacy reminds us: there are no limits when we dare to rise. 💫

She spoke boldly in a world that tried to silence her. Challenging injustice at the intersection of race and gender long before it had a name.

Honoring her voice, her fight, and her impact. 💜

This Black Women’s History Month, we honor the powerful voice and legacy of Maya Angelou 💜📖

She turned pain into poetry, silence into strength, and stories into liberation.

At our April Community Meeting this past Friday, we highlighted Maya Angelou’s poem, “Still I Rise.“ Through her words, she reminded us that our voices matter and that despite what life may put in our path, we can still rise. 💫

This Black Women’s History Month, we celebrate the brilliance, boldness, and cultural legacy of Zora Neale Hurston 🌿📚

She captured the beauty of Black life in all its fullness - through story, laughter, language, and tradition.

Because of her, generations of Black writers, scholars, and storytellers found their voice. 🤎

Honoring brilliance, flavor, and legacy ✨💐

This Black Women’s History Month, we celebrate the trailblazers like Edna Lewis, who taught the world that Southern cooking is history, memory, and love on a plate. 🍽️🌿

From tradition to table, their stories continue to nourish generations. 🤎

“I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.” — Fannie Lou Hamer ✊🏾

Honoring Fannie Lou Hamer, who rose to become a fearless leader for civil rights, voting rights, and economic justice. She fought tirelessly against voter suppression, helped found the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, and created the Freedom Farm Cooperative to empower Black communities.

Her courage reminds us that change starts with persistence, resilience, and demanding justice.

This month, let’s reflect on how we can carry her legacy in our own lives and communities.

Before representation was a conversation, she was already doing the work. ✨

Honoring Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black woman physician in the United States in 1864, at a time when both her race and gender made her presence in medicine revolutionary.

She faced rejection, doubt, and discrimination.
Patients refused her care.
Pharmacists questioned her prescriptions.

And yet, she still practiced. 🩺🤍

She dedicated her work to treating freed slaves after the Civil War, women, children, and neglected communities.

Dr. Crumpler also wrote one of the first medical texts published by a Black physician.

Her legacy is more than history, it is a reminder that medicine and healthcare has always needed equity.

As we reflect this month, let us ask:
What will your legacy be? 💭

Honoring Black Women, Healing Our Communities 💜

This April, we’re honoring Mary Eliza Mahoney — a pioneer who redefined what it meant to be a Black woman in healthcare.

She worked over a decade just for the chance to train. She broke barriers in a system not built for her. And she helped create space for those who came after her.

Join us as we reflect on her legacy and what it means for us today 🤍
