Another update! Thankfully, these aren't too frequent anymore, thanks to Chris recovering from the transplant like a boss... That being said, he did spend a few days in the hospital last week due to a low white blood cell count. Have no fear, all is well. His team took care of it, and he's back home now. He's even scheduled to go back to work next week! GO CHRIS! πŸ™‚β€οΈπŸ˜πŸ’œπŸ

Hi Friends! It's been a minute since we posted, so here's an update: Chris's recovery is going exceptionally well. He's only experienced a couple of minor post-transplant issues, but his superstar medical team has been able to successfully address them in rapid fashion. He still experiences sustained discomfort and pain, which is normal, and the reason for meds (lol). He's working on building up his strength and stamina, but still has trouble with stairs and walking anything more than a short distance. Time, effort, and exercise should fix that. He's on an emotional roller-coaster and simply cannot express how grateful he is for all of your support. The donations, words of encouragement, positive energy, and good vibes have been flowing in nicely since the beginning. Which is truly amazing. If you haven't donated to his 'GoFundMe', and would like to, the link is below. Any amount is greatly appreciated. He has more than a few doctors appointments over the next several months, and while necessary, they're also arduous and expensive. Thanks again to all of you. We'll keep you posted on his progress!

Look who's going home today! The advancement in medical technology is truly mind-blowing. He's had a few rough days of recovery so far, but being in his own bed will definitely feel good.

Chris is doing a great job so far of recovering from the marathon surgery yesterday. His vitals and fluid counts are within normal range. He's currently in the ICU, but it looks like they'll be transferring him to the Transplant Recovery Ward of Northwestern hospital tomorrow. This is fantastic news, as it means all is going better than expected. We'll keep everyone posted on his progress. Thank you so much to everyone following Chris's life-saving & life-changing event. He already looks better, doesn't he? Got his coloring and cheeks back!

As if Chris's donor wasn't already a certified superstar... she gave Trilby a goodie bag full of snacks and happiness to chew on while she waited during the surgery!! This planet needs more people like her, she's truly a rare gem of a human.

UPDATE:
After damn near 14 hours, the transplant surgery is a *SUCCESS*! A truly miraculous day for so many of us... especially his wife Trilby, who camped out at the hospital all day, giving his support team updates. She just sent us this text:

"He's closed up and intubated in ICU, I just got home and will be back in the morning, with updates. Good night guys, thanks for being here for him and me. Love you all❀️❀️❀️"

Here's Chris's Friday post, it's an important reminder that you're precious to at least one other person out there.

His transplant surgery is this Wednesday, the 22nd. For all of you who are following this saga, thank you for being here. No words accurately describe how grateful we are.

- From Chris's FB page -
The other day I received an email from my daughter's teacher. It explained that she was sad and seemed withdrawn. She wasn't playing with her friends and so on. She told her teacher she was scared to lose her daddy and she wouldn't see me for months. I quickly intervened and explained that dad was in the best place to have this surgery done with the highest success rate and best doctors.
More importantly I explained that her friends are her support network. Don't cut them out; let them in and share how you feel. I went on telling her that my friends are lifting me up, quelling my fears and setting me up for a successful recovery. Always be thankful for friends Josephine as it is a lonely world otherwise. Love and be loved.
A HUGE thank you to all of you who have given my daughter hope, blessings, natural medicine, wisdom, donations, and most of all your love. πŸ™ πŸ™Œ πŸ™

Happy Friday everyone! Chris has a wonderful update to share:

Yesterday I had yet more imaging, I also met with the pharmacist, head surgeon in the clinic and more importantly I met my living donor! My donor is the very reason these doctors have blessed 9am, May the 22nd, 2024. I am most certainly in awe of her bravery and giving me the chance to be around longer for my daughter. We have done all the blood work, psychological evaluations, and physicals. I am even contributing to a study. We are ready to go!

So many things can happen in surgery and we pray you keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We found comfort in the fact that the surgical team performed 138 liver transplants, including 13 adult living donor transplants just last year. We are in great hands.

We had some work ahead of us but we are ready to roll! We'll keep you posted!

Below is a link to his fundraiser. The goal is to help him.& Trilby get through the long recovery process without losing their home.

Hey everyone! We're raising funds for Chris in order to get him & his wife Trilby through the recovery process. They will both need to take extended leaves of absences from their jobs. That means their income will stop incoming, but the bills won't. So please donate if you're able to spare a few bucks. Any amount is helpful. Thank you so much for your continued support!

Hey there! We hope everyone had a fabulous and restful weekend! Just an update to let you know everything is moving along nicely. We almost certainly have a living donor, a couple of final tests and we'll know for sure. Amazingly enough, it's someone who went to high school with Chris. We'll disclose her identity once everything is a go.... and if she allows. Also, the fundraiser we started on GoFundMe is just mind-blowing. The amount of love, thoughtfulness, and generosity is truly heart-warming. Thank you so much for being there for Chris & his wife Trilby. Bless you all.

Hello friends! It's looking good. Nothing for sure as of yet, but we do indeed have some action with potential donors. Once the surgery is complete πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ™Œ, Chris and his wife Trilby will need to take leaves of absences from their jobs in order for Chris to recover. That means their income will stop incoming, but the bills won't. We've put together a GoFundMe page. Please check it out and donate if you're able to spare a few bucks. Any amount is helpful. Thank you so much for your continued support, guys!
