The Lurie Children’s Spina Bifida Center, in collaboration with Drs. McLone and Bowman, is conducting a long-term follow-up study to better understand the health and well-being of our oldest patients.

If you were born between 1975 and 1979 and received care at our center, we would greatly appreciate your participation in this important study.

One day she’s our adorable little patient and in a blink she is now a licensed clinical professional counselor speaking on sexual and reproductive health at our national Spina Bifida meeting!

We hope you all will join the Lurie SB Center in support of the 2025 Teal on the Hill, which will be taking place March 2-4th. Registration is now open!

This is our opportunity to attend meetings with members of Congress to advocate for continued funding for the National Spina Bifida Program at the CDC, disability rights, affordable and accessible health care, medical supplies, and technology.

We would like to extend the opportunity to rotate onto our Spina Bifida Family Advisory Board (SB FAB). We are looking for current patients (14+ years) as well as parents/caregivers of current patients to participate. This is a preorder, so please get orders in by Mila's birthday, which is November 6th. All proceeds will be going to the ISBA, which is a vital program to help improve the quality of life for children, adults and families in Illinois living with Spina Bifida.
