"Your pain is real — even when the tests come back normal."
Somatic Symptom Disorder can feel isolating and misunderstood. You may struggle with chronic pain, fatigue, or physical symptoms that don’t have a clear medical cause — but that doesn’t mean it’s “all in your head.”

🧠 The mind and body are deeply connected. Emotional stress, anxiety, or trauma can show up physically. That doesn’t make your experience any less valid.
As a psychiatric provider, I work with patients to explore the emotional roots of physical symptoms, reduce distress, and improve day-to-day functioning with compassionate, evidence-based care.

💬 If your symptoms are affecting your life and you feel unheard, there is help. You deserve to be taken seriously.

"Nightmares aren't just dreams — they can be symptoms of unresolved stress, trauma, or anxiety."

If you’re waking up exhausted, anxious, or fearful from disturbing dreams, you’re not alone. Chronic nightmares can interfere with your sleep, mental health, and overall quality of life. For many, they’re linked to PTSD, anxiety, or depression — and they are more than just “bad dreams.”

🌙 The good news? Nightmares are treatable. Whether through medication, therapy, or trauma-informed care, healing is possible.
As a psychiatric provider, I work with individuals to gently explore the root causes of distressing dreams and help restore safe, restful sleep.

💬 You don’t have to live in fear of the night. Let’s talk about options to help you rest peacefully again.

"A panic attack can feel like the world is closing in — but you are not alone, and you are not broken."

Panic attacks often strike without warning — racing heart, shortness of breath, chest tightness, dizziness, fear that something terrible is happening. Many mistake it for a medical emergency, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or even ashamed afterward.
But panic is a real, treatable response of your nervous system — not a personal failure.

With the right combination of support — whether therapy, medication, or grounding strategies — people can learn to reduce the frequency and intensity of panic attacks. You deserve to feel safe in your body again.

As a psychiatric provider, I offer a judgment-free space to talk about what you're experiencing and explore options that fit your needs and comfort level.

🧠 Relief is possible. Treatment is available. You don’t have to navigate panic alone.

“Taking medication for your mental health doesn’t mean you’re weak — it means you’re choosing healing.”

There’s a lot of fear and stigma around psychiatric medication. Many people worry:
“What will others think?”
“Will it change who I am?”
“Shouldn’t I be able to handle this on my own?”

These are valid concerns — but they shouldn't keep you from getting the help you need.
Just like insulin helps manage diabetes or an inhaler helps with asthma, psychiatric medication can support your brain in functioning at its best. When paired with therapy, lifestyle changes, or simply a compassionate care plan, medication can be a powerful tool in restoring your quality of life.

🧠 Mental health treatment is not about “fixing” you — it’s about helping you feel more like yourself.
Whether it’s for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, or other concerns, the decision to try medication is deeply personal — and should be made with a provider who listens, educates, and collaborates with you.

Let’s normalize asking for help. Let’s normalize healing.
📩 If fear or stigma is holding you back, I’m here to answer your questions without judgment. You deserve informed, compassionate care.

Do crowded spaces make you feel overwhelmed, trapped, or panicked? You’re not alone — and there is support.

Fear of crowds isn't simply “nerves.” It can feel like your body is on high alert — heart racing, hands sweating, mind spinning — just walking into a store, attending a class, or navigating a busy street.
This response is often rooted in anxiety, past trauma, or sensory overload. And while it may feel isolating, it's a valid experience that can be treated.

As a mental health provider, I help individuals safely explore these triggers and regain a sense of calm, confidence, and control in their daily lives.

✨ Treatment may include:
- Targeted therapy (like CBT or trauma-focused care)
- Medication support for anxiety
- Gradual exposure techniques
- Mind-body tools to reduce panic

Healing doesn't mean you have to “tough it out.” It means learning how to support your nervous system with compassion, not shame.

📩 If fear of crowds is interfering with your life, reach out. You deserve freedom, not fear.

Low self-esteem doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’ve survived experiences that made you doubt your worth.

You might feel like you're never “good enough,” second-guess yourself constantly, or struggle to speak up — not because you're weak, but because your mind has been shaped by criticism, comparison, or trauma.
As a mental health provider, I help clients uncover the root of these beliefs and begin to rebuild a more compassionate, confident sense of self.

💬 Common signs of low self-worth:
-Harsh inner self-talk
-Avoiding challenges or opportunities
-Over-apologizing or people-pleasing
-Fear of rejection or judgment
🌱 Therapy and medication management (when needed) can help you:
-Set healthy boundaries
-Practice self-acceptance
-Silence the inner critic
-Reclaim your voice and value

You are allowed to take up space. You deserve to believe in yourself — not someday, but now.

📩 If you’re ready to feel more confident in your own skin, I’m here to support you.

Anorexia is not about vanity — it’s about pain, control, and feeling “not enough.”
If you’re struggling with restricting food, obsessing over body image, or feeling intense guilt around eating — please know, it’s not your fault. Anorexia is a serious mental health condition, not a choice.
As a psychiatric provider, I work with individuals facing:

🥄 Fear of gaining weight, even when underweight
🧠 Obsessive thoughts about calories, body shape, or exercise
🛏️ Fatigue, dizziness, sleep issues, or cold sensitivity
💬 Low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or perfectionism

Recovery is possible. We focus on both the emotional and medical support needed to help you heal your relationship with food — and with yourself.
You deserve nourishment, care, and peace — not punishment.

Complex PTSD isn’t “just trauma” — it’s the emotional residue of repeated wounds.
If you grew up feeling unsafe, unseen, or constantly on edge — the impact doesn’t simply go away with time. Complex PTSD can affect how you think, feel, trust, and connect.
As a psychiatric provider, I work with individuals facing:

🧠 Chronic anxiety, emotional numbness, or sudden mood shifts
💔 Shame, guilt, or self-blame tied to past experiences
🌙 Sleep disturbances, flashbacks, or hypervigilance
🤝 Difficulty forming healthy relationships or setting boundaries

Healing is possible — not by “getting over it,” but by learning how to feel safe within yourself again.
You are not too broken, too much, or too late.

📩 Reach out for care that honors your story and helps you reclaim your peace.
— Suzanne Chan, DNP, FNP, PMHNP
