July is UV Safety Awareness Month — and sun protection is important at every age. For older adults especially, taking a few extra steps can help keep skin healthy and strong all summer long.

Here are a few simple tips:
• Wear lightweight clothing that covers arms and legs
• Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and reapply often
• Avoid peak sun hours (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) when possible
• Don’t forget sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat

Protect your skin and enjoy the sunshine safely! ☀️

Pamela Christensen, a resident of Rocklin, California, has been an active member of Bayside Covenant Church in Granite Bay since 1996. As the owner of Financial Disciplines for over 30 years and a Certified Financial Planner™, Pamela is deeply committed to faithful stewardship and philanthropy. She has served on the Covenant Living Board since 2010 and previously held the role of Pastor of Stewardship at Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas. With a master’s degree in theology from Western Seminary and undergraduate studies in Economics, Bible & Ethics, and Coaching, Pamela brings a well-rounded perspective to her work and service.

Pamela supports the Benevolent Care Fund because, as she explains:

“Jesus said in John 13:35, ‘By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.’ I strive to live in a way that reflects Christ’s teachings, so that others can see to whom I belong. My financial support and service on the Covenant Living Board help keep my focus on what matters most—being generous with my time, talents, and resources. The joy and fellowship I receive in return are just part of the blessing. I want to run the race God has set before me and one day hear, ‘Well done.’ Despite life’s ups and downs, I have been enormously blessed, and I feel called to share those blessings by faithfully giving back.”
