Friday Fun Fact: The very first Labor Day Parade was held in New York City on September 5, 1882. At that time, factory workers often endured 60+ hour work weeks, and textile laborers in NYC earned only 75 cents per day. The parade was a powerful call to draw attention to these unfair working conditions.

Much has changed since then, and today we have much to celebrate. This Labor Day, we honor the 163.1 million employed Americans whose dedication drives our economy and strengthens our communities.
