For almost four years of the full-scale russian invasion, UMANA Illinois (Ukrainian Medical Association of North America) has been supporting hospitals in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region with essential medical supplies and life-saving equipment.

During this time, they’ve delivered thousands of instruments, medications, and devices that have helped save soldiers, civilians, and children.

Once again, Kharkiv has received more than 100 pounds of medical equipment and antibiotics — vital aid urgently needed in local hospitals and frontline areas.

The people of Kharkiv extend their deepest gratitude to UMANA and every volunteer who gathered, transported, and delivered this assistance. Your work continues to save thousands of lives.

UMANA was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit presented by the Order of Saint Panteleimon for tUMANA's selfless service and professionalism during Ukraine's war for its independence. Past President Dr Marta Lopatynsky accepted the award. Dr. Vassyl Lonchyna emceed the event along with Tatyana Tymkiv-President at Foreign Council of Order of St.Panteleimon US.

UMANA Illinois Medical Relief Committee packed up its warehouse after 4 years. Established in February 2022, many tons of medical supplies and equipment were shipped to Ukraine. We hope that we were able to help our colleagues continue to provide medical care during these difficult times.

Collaborating with Project Cure and UCCA, we were able to send over 40 ICU beds to Ukraine ready to help in critical care units.

Several of the 2026 UMANA Debutantes (along with their mothers) continue their charitable work projects by packing meals for children all over the world (including Ukraine) at the Feed my Starving Children center. Good job ladies!

I was honored to meet with Dr Anastasia Furtak (L) who visited the UMANA office today. She is in Chicago for her induction as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a general surgeon who practices in Lviv at the Ukrainian Catholic University clinic. Congratulations Dr. Furtak ! If any of you surgeons are at the meeting, look for her!
