Shriners Children's Chicago provides specialty pediatric care to children up to age 18 with orthopedic issues from regular to rare. We specialize in care related to cerebral palsy, club foot, scoliosis and a variety of rare diseases. We also treat spinal cord injuries in kids, offer plastic surgery including craniofacial, cleft lip and cleft palate repair, and pediatric rehabilitation in a friendly, family-centered environment. Every clinic visit, procedure, surgical admission, and rehabilitation appointment is provided regardless of the family's ability to pay. The list of accepted insurance providers continues to grow, and includes Medicaid. We are part of a network of more than 20 care facilities with locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Our mission is to improve the lives of children by providing innovative pediatric specialty care, cutting-edge research, and outstanding medical education. Come see our spacious activity mall with space for wheelchair sports, games and an indoor playground. We also have a large adapted outdoor playground and an award winning 4000 sq ft patient garden. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, relying on the generous donations of Shriners and the general public to carry out our mission and change the lives of children everyday.

The holiday season is in full swing! Local patients and inpatients enjoyed the annual recreational therapy/child life holiday party. There was dinner, arts and crafts, sweets, and of course Santa. The Little Elves of Love hosted an amazing Santa's workshop, international karoke federation brought the music, and Chicago Bear Terell Smith helped bring holiday smiles to more than 40 patients and their siblings. Thanks to the many volunteers who made this happen!

When patients come to Shriners Children’s for care, it can feel like they are part of the family.
Ivan’s last clinic visit was filled with cake and a small celebration with staff, reflecting the care and support that has surrounded him throughout his recovery. Our pediatric orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, and rehabilitation specialists treated Ivan, 19, since August 2022.

Shriners Children’s Chicago has received statewide recognition for our team’s efforts to promote the appropriate use of antibiotics and antifungal medications. We are 1 of nearly 50 hospitals in the state to earn “Silver Tier” status on the IL Dept of Public Health’s first-ever Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll. Our team is committed to doing our part to promote patient safety, and reduce the risks of antibiotic-resistant infections in the future for our pediatric patients.
