Shriners Children's Chicago provides specialty pediatric care to children up to age 18 with orthopedic issues from regular to rare. We specialize in care related to cerebral palsy, club foot, scoliosis and a variety of rare diseases. We also treat spinal cord injuries in kids, offer plastic surgery including craniofacial, cleft lip and cleft palate repair, and pediatric rehabilitation in a friendly, family-centered environment. Every clinic visit, procedure, surgical admission, and rehabilitation appointment is provided regardless of the family's ability to pay. The list of accepted insurance providers continues to grow, and includes Medicaid. We are part of a network of more than 20 care facilities with locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Our mission is to improve the lives of children by providing innovative pediatric specialty care, cutting-edge research, and outstanding medical education. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, relying on the generous donations of Shriners and the general public to carry out our mission and change the lives of children everyday.

🍽️ It’s National Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week, and we’re celebrating the team that fills our hospital with care, compassion — and delicious meals!

Our Nutrition Services staff go above and beyond every day. From special patient requests (like chicken tenders!) to preparing nutritious meals, their impact is felt with every tray served. Our patients and families often rave about the food.

Multidisciplinary conversations advance pediatric sports medicine care and research. The Shriners Children's Sports Consortium, held at Shriners Children's Chicago brought together sports medicine and orthopedic specialists from Shriners Children's locations. The discussions covered a range of topics, including active research projects, sports patient-reported outcomes, the motion analysis center, rehabilitation, and education.

A single moment changed everything for Elvin. He sustained a mid-back spinal cord injury that left him unable to move his arms and limited to slight movement in his right shoulder and bicep. With the support of our dedicated SCI care team Shriners Children's Chicago Elvin began a journey of recovery fueled by specialized rehab and sheer determination. He found a community—including Occupational Therapist, Ashley and other specialists—who helped him roll into a new, fulfilled life.

As we wrap up Month, his story is a powerful reminder of resilience and the impact of compassionate care.
