We are a Chicago based non-profit dedicated to aiding inner city communities through free yoga classes and organic gardening!

Our Mission:

Yoga Gardens NFP is a women founded not-for -profit organization which began in Chicago. Our goal is to aid and uplift children and young adults of impoverished Chicago neighborhoods. Through yoga, meditation and healthier food options we relieve stress and disease in areas where these difficulties are most prevalent. Yoga gardens NFP board members and trusties are professionals in

various fields, but are all yogi’s at heart. As yogi’s we collectivity believe that it is our responsibility to give back to our community, and Yoga Gardens makes it our mission to do so. What We Do:

We allocate vacant lots in developing residential areas, which often accumulate garbage, attract criminal activity, and ultimately become a burden on the residents. Yoga Garden’s transforms each lot into a thriving yoga & gardening community space. Our Board members assemble groups of local volunteers to participate in constructing and maintaining the lot. Hundreds of native plants such as bee and butterfly attracting flowers, trees and large shrubs will be embedded, and encompass the lot. Raised beds will be constructed for a fruit and vegetable garden, as well as a wooden deck for the teaching and practice of yoga. Together we transform the lot into a garden and yoga center for residents to use throughout the spring, summer and early fall.

The 2025 season has been a blessing! We’ve witnessed the growth of this grassroots movement, which is bringing more joy to our communities and our hearts. Thank you to all the volunteers, staff, donors, and community members for your support and encouragement. Let’s finish the season strong, Chicago! If you haven’t yet, come out to volunteer at the gardens, join a Beach Yoga Chicago class or send resources our way🙏🏾🫶🏾🙏🏾

Join us for a Celebration of Life! An evening to remember and celebrate the lives of those we have lost, missed, and loved. The event will include sound healing, meditation, free gifts, snacks, and more. Please bring a photo of your loved one ( if you like), a blanket, comfortable clothing, and a friend. This event is free, but you must sign up to attend.
