Unbroken Rehab & Athletics is officially accepting applications for our undergraduate Physical Therapy Internship program - Summer Cohort. We exist to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and elite performance, throwing out the traditional "insurance mill" model to deliver a high standard of care to everyone who walks through our doors. If you are an undergraduate student targeting a career in physical therapy—with a strong secondary interest in strength and conditioning—and want to learn how to build physical capacity rather than just manage symptoms, this is where you belong.

What You’ll Gain:
-Hands-on Clinical Experience: Immerse yourself in a high-performance rehab setting alongside physical therapists and performance professionals who possess legitimate training and movement fluency.
-True Mentorship & Shadowing: Get direct exposure to sports medicine, orthopedic rehab, patient interaction, and athletic program development.
-PT School Prep: Build a rock-solid foundation that provides stronger preparation for PT school and your future career.
Internship Details:

Commitment: Minimum 10–15 hours/week with flexible scheduling to accommodate your classes. This can be more or less depending on your goals

Type: Unpaid undergraduate internship with rolling admissions (ideal for pre-PT students). Eligible to add this on your resume, and receive a letter of recommendation

Locations: Positions available across our Chicagoland facilities in Edison Park, West Loop, Lakeview, and Wheeling.

I wasn’t the most athletic growing up, but discovering CrossFit early in my career completely changed the way I view health and fitness. It sparked my passion for movement, strength, and helping others feel their best. While I haven’t experienced a major injury myself, I deeply understand the challenges of recovery and the patience it requires.

With several years of experience, I’m passionate about providing high-quality care through a fitness-forward approach. My focus is on helping people recover from injuries and confidently return to the sports, hobbies, and activities they love. I’m committed to continually learning and growing so I can deliver the best possible care to every patient.

Outside the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our little son—usually with a good coffee and maybe a sweet treat—or training at the gym to keep getting fitter every day. I also love traveling and exploring new cities when I get the chance.”

🥋An Unbroken Athlete Spotlight 🧑🏽‍🚒

Luis came to Unbroken after a full knee replacement and lots to get back to; firefighting, lifting weights, and jiu jitsu. Day in and day out Luis put in the work both in clinic and on his own.

After rehabbing with Dr. Will, Luis was not only able to quicken his return to work but improve his confidence and knowledge of knee rehab and strengthening for the future!

We want to thank Jaime from Fonseca Martial Arts for giving us a live demo of the Martial Arts world, as well as arming my team with some self-defense techniques 🙅🏻‍♂️🙅‍♀️
They have 5 locations from Roscoe Village, Park Ridge and 3 more locations in the northshore area. They have classes ranging from 4-80+, as well as a specialized class for patients with Parkinson Disease. Give them a trial for all your martial arts needs 👌🏼

Here are our warm-up recommendations for the Crossfit Open 26.1 workout 🙌🏼
If your box has a prescribed warm-up for the workout, great! But if not or you’d like to do more, do this 👇

Mobility Drills (2-3 sets)
👉Bootstrappers, 10 bilat
👉Medball T-spine Extensions, 8-10 reps
👉Forward/Reverse Frog Jumps, 4 there and backs

💡The name of the game will be opening up your hips at deeper squat positions. If you keep your hips open with the wall ball, you will be able to keep your chest up and be more energy efficient with the movement
💡 The reverse frog jumps do an excellent job of warming up your adductor muscles which will be heavily recruited during this workout (second to the quads of course)
