We now offer in-person prenatal classes! Classes are a 3-week series on Tuesdays at 6:00PM held at UIH. Classes are taught by a certified nurse-midwife, registered nurse, and lactation consultant. They are free to both UIH and non-UIH patients. You can sign up by clicking below!

Week 1: Prenatal Care and Labor/Birth
Week 2: Postpartum, Newborn Care, and L&D Tour
Week 3: Breastfeeding

You may participate in a research study on MELANATED GROUP MIDWIFERY CARE (MGMC). This study aims to test if care from a team of Black midwives, nurses, and doulas can improve pregnancy outcomes for Black women. This study may be right for you if you:
- are less than 24 weeks pregnant
- are at least 15 years of age
- speak and understand English
- identify as Black/African American

Welcome Nicole Camardo DNP, APRN, CNM. Nicole completed her midwifery education at UIC followed by a fellowship with Erie Family Health Advancing Practice Residency Program. Nicole values health equity and holistic care for all of her patients. She has special interests in improving preconception, prenatal, and postpartum care, as well as gynecological and contraception services. In her spare time, Nicole is spending time with her friends and family, cooking, and walking her German Shepherd.
