What is a Nuclear Medicine Technologist? 🧪💻
They’re highly trained professionals who use advanced imaging to see how the body functions—helping diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. It’s a unique blend of chemistry, physics, math, computer tech, and compassionate patient care.

☀️ Got a sunburn? Here’s how to treat it right.

Prevention is key, but if the burn happens, be gentle with your skin. Peeling is part of your skin’s natural healing process — but how you care for it matters:
🧴 Moisturize often, especially with aloe
🚿 Take cool showers, skip harsh soaps
🚫 Don’t exfoliate or pick at peeling skin
🧢 Protect new skin with soft fabrics & stay out of the sun if possible
💊 Use OTC pain relievers if sore

Summer in Chicago is the perfect time for outdoor fun—but it also brings more insects. Whether it is mosquitoes, bees or ticks, bug bites and stings are common this time of year. While most are harmless and can be treated at home, some can lead to serious reactions or infections.

See a doctor if you notice any of the following:
🦟Signs of infection: pus, warmth, increased pain, or spreading redness
🦟Symptoms of an allergic reaction: hives, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing
🦟A tick bite followed by a rash, fever, or joint pain
🦟A bite that doesn’t heal or gets worse over time
🦟 Multiple stings or a sting inside the mouth or throat

One of the easiest (and most overlooked) ways to protect your skin from harmful UV rays is by what you wear.

👕 Choose tightly woven fabrics that block sunlight — if you can see through it, UV rays can reach your skin.
🧢 Wear a wide-brimmed hat to protect your face, ears, and neck.
🕶️ Don’t forget UV-blocking sunglasses to protect your eyes and the delicate skin around them.
🌞 Look for clothing with a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) label — some fabrics are specially designed to shield your skin.

This summer, cover up smart. Your skin will thank you later.

🚨Excessive Heat Warning: Stay Safe in the Heat! 🚨

Today’s temperatures are dangerously high — take steps to protect your health:
✅ Stay hydrated – Drink water often, even if you’re not thirsty
✅ Limit outdoor activity – Especially during peak sun hours (11AM–4PM)
✅ Seek air conditioning – If you don’t have AC, visit a cooling center or public place
✅ Check on neighbors – Especially the elderly, young children, and those with pets or medical conditions
✅ Know the signs of heat exhaustion – Dizziness, nausea, headache, excessive sweating

If you’re feeling unwell from the heat, don’t wait — our Emergency Room is always open.
