Save the date for our upcoming webinar, Reclaiming Power: Responding to Mental Health and Substance Use Coercion!

In this interactive webinar, we will explore the intersections of domestic violence, mental health coercion, and substance use coercion. Advocates will gain insight into how unsafe partners manipulate and weaponize mental health and substance use to isolate, destabilize, and exert control. Through scenarios and discussions, we will examine common coercive tactics and their impacts on well-being, autonomy, and ability to access support.

The workshop introduces two practical tools—the “Mental Health Coercion Palm Card” and the “Substance Use Coercion Palm Card”—providing a framework for:

Initiating safe conversations about mental health and substance use coercion
Offering validating and affirming responses to survivors’ experiences
Collaborating with survivors to develop strategies for access to desired services
Advocates will enhance their capacity to recognize subtle forms of coercion and provide effective, trauma-informed support.

We hope to see you on January 22, 2026 | 2:00 PM CT!

We are proud to introduce our new toolkit, A Wildflower Path: Healing in Hard Times. Mind-Body-Spirit Practices for Reclaiming Wholeness Beyond Trauma

This toolkit offers accessible, adaptable mind-body-spirit (MBS) practices – sometimes known as grounding, mindfulness, or wellness practices – for reducing stress and promoting healing. Designed for trauma survivors, their families, and the people and organizations who support them, it provides options that can be incorporated into daily life with minimal resources. The collection empowers individuals with direct access to healing practices while inspiring organizations to integrate these approaches into their service delivery and workplace culture.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for !

Your generosity strengthens a nationwide network of advocates and other professionals serving survivors at the critical intersections of domestic violence, trauma, mental health, and substance use. Together, we're ensuring that survivors encountering any system—whether seeking shelter, healthcare, or support—find doors that open to understanding and informed care.

Every contribution advances our shared commitment: transforming how systems respond to survivors' complex needs. Your investment ripples outward—from training to practice, from practice to lives changed.

For those inspired to join this mission, it's not too late to make an impact: https://donorbox.org/strengthening-systems-centering-survivors-ncdvtmh

As we begin our next chapter of service, we're grateful for this community that understands: when we strengthen the systems survivors turn to, we multiply pathways to safety and healing. Thank you for being part of this vital work.
