October is ADHD Awareness (and Acceptance) Month!

ADHD is a common co-occuring condition that adults who are also autistic experience. Both ADHD and Autism are part of the Neurodivergent Spectrum.

According to ADHD Awareness Month: "For adults learning for the first time that their longstanding problems with time management, organization, impulsivity, memory, and emotional outbursts are due to ADHD can be a huge relief." - Dr. Elisabeth Baerg Hall

Want your workplace to thrive in the age of AI and constant change? Start by listening.

On UserTesting's Insights Unlocked podcast, CEO Tara May shares how Aspiritech grew from a kitchen-table idea into a $6M company by centering neurodiversity.

How can your organization do the same? It starts with listening to what your employees need, then turning that listening into action.

This shift might not be costly, but it is foundational to transforming performance, loyalty, and innovation.

October is both National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and Learning Disability Awareness Month.

In honor of both, we figured it would be informative to share this article we found from the Learning Disability Association of America (Learning Disabilities Association of America) on Removing Barriers for Individuals with Learning Disabilities in the Workplace.

LDA America says, "Employees with learning disabilities may experience various types of limitations, just as they also have various areas of strengths. Also, the degree of limitation will vary among individuals. Be aware that not all people with learning disabilities need accommodations to perform their jobs and many others may only need a few accommodations."

When companies invest in neuroinclusion coaching for managers, peers, and HR teams, they’re better supporting neurodivergent employees AND building retention-ready workplaces where everyone—regardless of neurotype—can excel.

As Aspiriteh CEO Tara May pointed out during a recent Tooling U-SME panel: “Turnover is expensive. Why wouldn’t you want a group of people who are loyal, engaged, and thrive on solving problems?”

October is Learning Disabilities Awareness (and Acceptance!) Month. Just like autism, we hear about learning disabilities mostly in children, but people who have them will usually experience them throughout their entire lives. There is a high correlation between autism and learning disabilities, especially Nonverbal Learning Disabilities (NLD).

According to the Learning Disabilities Association of America, the main types of Learning Disabilities include:
- Dyslexia: Affects reading and related language-based processing skills.
- Dyscalcula: Affects a person’s ability to understand numbers and learn math facts.
- Dysgraphia: Affects a person’s handwriting ability and fine motor skills.
- Nonverbal Learning Disabilities: Has trouble interpreting nonverbal cues like facial expressions or body language and may have poor coordination.
- Oral/Written Language Disorder & Reading Comprehension Defecit: Affects an individual’s understanding of what they read or of spoken language.

Inclusion isn’t meaningful until it’s operational.

The 2025 Disability Index Report makes it clear that businesses can’t consider themselves inclusive just by setting policies. They need accessible vendor systems, funded accommodations, and cultures where employees feel safe disclosing their needs.

Every organization’s journey will look different, but no one needs to navigate it alone. Partners with lived expertise, like Aspiritech, can help make accessibility practical, sustainable, and real.
