Yes, failing sucks. It hurts. But here's the shift: What if your pain has a purpose?

Every rejection I faced, every board exam I failed - it wasn't time wasted. It became the foundation for everything I teach now about resilience.

The next time you're facing failure, don't ask yourself "Why did this happen TO me?" Ask yourself, "What is this preparing me FOR?"

☀️🏖 With summer in full swing, I'm excited to announce that my latest interview has been featured in Chicago Caregiving Magazine. This timely piece explores the therapeutic effects of blue spaces on older adults' well-being.

Delving into the health benefits of spending time near open water, the article reveals how aquatic environments - from tranquil lakefronts to winding rivers and expansive oceans - can significantly enhance quality of life. It offers valuable insights and compelling reasons to incorporate blue space visits into daily routines, making it an essential read for those looking to optimize their summer activities for better health.

Discover how the simple act of being near water can enhance your well-being. Read the full article to unlock the potential of blue spaces for yourself or your loved ones this season.

🚨 📺 TV APPEARANCE ALERT!

As the heatwave continues in the midwest 🥵🌡, please be mindful of keeping yourself and your loved ones safe and cool 🧊, especially our older adults.

I had the pleasure of speaking with CBS Chicago's Darius Johnson during my latest earlier this week about this important health issue (link below 👇).

Here are four tips to help you and your loved ones safely beat the heat and keep C.O.O.L:

C - Check on seniors regularly! Ensure they have working air conditioning or fans and access to water. Offer to run errands (pick up medications, groceries, etc.) for our seniors so they can avoid being outside during this time.

O - Optimize your hydration. Keep plenty of water on hand. Add slices of lemon, lime, oranges, or strawberries to your water to enhance the taste. Consume foods with high water content (cucumber, watermelon, blueberries, celery, lettuce).

O - Outfit yourself in light-colored, loose-fitting clothing made from breathable fabrics that wick away sweat. This promotes evaporative (air) cooling, which draws heat away from the body to keep you cool.

L - Limit time spent outdoors during peak sun exposure (typically between 10 AM and 4 PM). Seek shade if you must be outdoors, and wear protective gear (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen).

Experts said people should avoid outdoor activity if possible, drink plenty of water, and wear sunscreen if they do go outside.

⏰Can you believe half of 2024 is already behind us? There's no better time than the midway mark to pause and reflect on the personal growth journey I embarked on at the start of this year.

I committed to prioritizing my authenticity and shedding any outdated aspects that no longer resonated with who I am today.

📸 One pivotal step was a transformative photoshoot with the amazing Sandra Madhere (Sandra Madhere Studios). This incredibly liberating experience allowed me to examine how I presented myself to the world and ensure it aligned with my core values, goals, and vision for my life. Not to mention, I had tons of fun in the process!!! 🤩

There's beauty in embracing change and refreshing your goals, dreams, and vision for your life!

🤔 If you feel unfulfilled at this midyear juncture, I encourage you to be courageous and change course.

Use the remainder of 2024 to:
✨ Realign your outward persona with your current values and vision.
✨ Let go of any aspects that feel forced or inauthentic.
✨ Spend more time with people, opportunities, and experiences that resonate with the real you.

This process isn't easy, but it's a powerful act of self-love and a commitment to living life on your own terms.

❤️ I'll be sharing more updates in the coming weeks, but for now, I simply want to thank all of you for your continued support. I hope you will join me in embracing this exciting path of personal growth and self-expression!

What transformations have you experienced this year? What are you looking forward to in the coming months? Share your reflections and insights below I'd love to hear from you!
