Dear AVLS Community,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that AVLS Congress 2025, scheduled for this October, will not take place.

Like many medical societies, AVLS has faced ongoing financial challenges since COVID-19, with lower than expected attendance at past meetings and reduced industry support. Earlier this year, we filed for Chapter 11 in the hope of reorganizing and using this year’s Congress as a pivotal step toward recovery.

Despite the dedication of our volunteers, staff, and leadership, registration and vendor support have not reached the levels needed to make the meeting financially possible. As a result, we
simply do not have the resources to hold the Congress this year.

We know how much our members value coming together each year to learn, share, and support one another. Canceling this meeting was the most difficult decision we’ve had to make, and we deeply regret the disappointment and disruption it causes.

We are reaching out to the Washington Hilton to determine what deposit monies are recoverable.

AVLS remains committed to advancing vein and lymphatic care, supporting our members, and finding ways to rebuild. We are grateful for your ongoing support and understanding during this
difficult time, and we will keep you updated on our next steps.

With gratitude,
The AVLS Board of Directors
