Blue Bird Day

Blue Bird Day Blue Bird Day is an academically structured therapeutic program for children 2 - 7 years old. Feel free to connect with us via email or visit our website.

Blue Bird Day fosters socialization, sensory regulation, and pre-academic learning in children ages 2–7 years in therapeutic rotations that simulate preschool and kindergarten settings. Our compassionate therapists practice a relationship-based and family-centered approach, provide parent training, and collaborate on goals and individualized intensive treatment plans for your child. We believe in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team approach to therapy. A team of occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, dietitians, developmental therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, and therapeutic assistants are created for each child to ensure child and family are fully supported and the best possible results are achieved. Options for individualized, group and virtual therapy sessions are available as well. Want to learn more, sign up for a tour, or have a specific question?

We understand the deep worry that comes when your child’s menu consists of only a handful of specific items. This isn’t just about "picky eating." It’s often about feeling safe.

That is why we love Food Chaining—a gentle, low-pressure method to expand your child’s diet. Instead of asking for a big leap to a new food, we build a bridge using tiny changes.

The worry that your child is not getting enough nutrition is a feeling that can settle deep in a parent’s bones. You watch your child eat the same handful of foods, day after day. The menu consists of plain pasta, a specific brand of chicken nuggets, maybe some crackers, and

Our Blue Bird of the Week is Johanna! Johanna is the kind of friend who’s always a little curious about everything and up for an adventure. Lately she’s been loving the park and hanging out on the roof, just doing her thing. She’s also really into arts and crafts with her friends. Johanna is such a joy to be around, and we can’t wait to see her continue to grow!

You spend time preparing a healthy meal, only to be met with tears, refusal, or a complete meltdown. It’s exhausting. But what if we told you that "picky eating" is often about much more than just the food?

For many neurodiverse children, eating is a complex sensory challenge. In our latest blog, we explore the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach—a gentle, play-based method that breaks eating down into 32 manageable steps (yes, 32!).
