Sejdaras Psy.D & Associates At our practice, self-compassion is the heart of our work.

We believe healing begins when individuals learn to speak to themselves with kindness, challenge emotional stagnation, and create healthier internal narratives that support emotional well-being

We live in a world where we’re constantly connected…
but rarely fully present.

Notifications.
Breaking news.
Group chats.
Emails.
Scrolling.

It’s information overload — and our nervous systems were never designed to process this much, this fast, every single day.

When your mind feels anxious, overstimulated, or low… it’s not weakness.
It might be exhaustion from never unplugging.

In our newest blog, we talk about:
• How constant input impacts stress, anxiety, and depression
• Why your brain needs intentional boundaries
• Simple ways to reduce overwhelm in a hyper-connected world

Protecting your mental health isn’t dramatic — it’s necessary.

Take a breath.

They say you can’t have both.

You can’t be powerful at work and present at home.
You can’t lead meetings and lead bedtime prayers.
You can’t build a career and build a child.

Somehow, the world still whispers that if you’re ambitious, you must be neglecting something.
And if you’re deeply devoted to motherhood, you must be falling behind professionally.

But high-achieving women know the truth.

We are capable of holding both.
We run homes.
We run meetings.
We carry strategy decks in one hand and snacks in the other.

Yes, we’re tired.
Yes, we feel stretched.
But exhaustion does not cancel excellence.

You are not “too much” for wanting impact and intimacy.
You are not selfish for having ambition.
And you are not less of a professional because you love being a mother.

You are expansive.
And there is no limit to what an expansive woman can build.

To the women doing both — we see you.

Love is not a fleeting emotion.
It’s the foundation of our identity.

After watching the Super Bowl conversations unfold — the pride, the unity, the generational representation — I was reminded that love connects more than hearts. It connects families, cultures, and communities.

I expanded on this in my newest blog.
Come read it. 🤍

Letting go in the New Year isn’t about erasing who you were or forcing yourself into a fresh start. Especially in seasons of long winters, heavy workloads, and quiet burnout, healing asks for something slower and more compassionate. From a mental health perspective, letting go is about honoring what your mind and body have carried—and giving yourself permission to move forward at a human pace. ❄️

Read the full blog for a gentler way to think about healing this New Year.

✨ Happy New Year 2026 ✨

As we step into a new year, we want to pause and honor what it took to get here.
The resilience it required.
The courage it demanded.
The quiet strength shown on days no one else saw.

2026 is not about perfection.
It’s about intention.
About choosing yourself again and again.
About healing at your own pace, honoring your nervous system, and allowing space for growth without shame.

This year, we hold space for:
• deeper self-compassion
• healthier boundaries
• emotional honesty
• and the belief that healing is possible, even after hard seasons

Wherever you are on your journey—starting, continuing, or simply surviving—you are welcome here.

May 2026 be a year of clarity, connection, and gentle transformation.
We are grateful to walk alongside you. 🤍

Calling Chicago families 🤍

I’m currently seeking a volunteer parent-infant dyad for weekly, in-home observations as part of advanced training in parent-infant psychotherapy.
These visits are gentle, non-invasive, and focused on learning from babies in their natural environment—with flexibility built around your family’s needs.
If you’re expecting and interested in participating, please reach out to learn more.

Not everyone experiences December as magical.
Sometimes it’s heavy, lonely, or emotionally loud in ways no one talks about.
I wrote about December grief, trauma, and the parts of the season we’re expected to hide.
📝 New blog is live.

High standards are often celebrated.
Ambition. Discipline. Resilience.

But inside relationships, those same strengths can quietly turn into pressure.
When you’re a high achiever, it’s easy to expect performance instead of presence, growth instead of grace, and consistency without space for being human.

Our newest blog breaks down how unrealistic expectations can slowly hurt connection — even when intentions are good.
✨ Growth doesn’t have to come at the cost of intimacy.

✨ New Blog Live: The Hidden Emotional Struggles of High Achievers ✨

High achievers are often celebrated for their drive, discipline, and resilience. From the outside, they look confident, capable, and endlessly motivated.
But what most people don’t see is the weight they carry in silence — the pressure to never slip, the fear of disappointing others, the internal battles that happen behind every polished accomplishment.

This week’s blog is a reminder that even the strongest minds need a place to exhale. Therapy isn’t a sign of weakness — it’s a space where high achievers finally get to put the armor down, be human, and heal the parts no one claps for.

If you’ve been holding it all together for everyone else… this one’s for you. 🤍

🫶 We’re launching a Food Drive! 🥫✨

As SNAP benefits continue to decrease, more families are struggling to put food on the table. Our mental health community has always shown up with empathy, and now we’re asking you to join us in a different kind of support — collecting non-perishable food items for those who need it most.

Bring your donation to your next appointment — a drop-off bin will be available in our waiting area.
All items will go directly to Nourishing Hope Chicago, serving families in our local community.

Because healing isn’t just about the mind — it’s about helping each other survive and thrive. 🥹💛

Grateful for the honor of being a keynote speaker at the Stress & Cancer Prevention Conference.

Stepping onto that stage was more than a moment—it was a reminder of why this work matters.

I hope my words reached those who needed them most, offering knowledge, comfort, and a little more hope.
Here’s to continued conversations that heal, educate, and empower. 🤍
