Chicago Pediatric Therapy & Wellness Center provides physical, occupational, speech and Behavior therapy services in the clinic, school, and teletherapy setting as well as in the home through the Early Intervention Program. We work with children of all ages, from premature infants to young adults. Our therapists work in partnership with families to establish meaningful goals and provide interventi

ons that are developmentally appropriate in a child-friendly environment. Communication with the child, parents, and specialists on the team is the cornerstone of our intervention and treatment philosophies. We have multiple social groups and classes for all ages that meet on a weekly or twice weekly basis. We strive to provide a variety of services for children and their caregivers to serve as a resource for families in the community. These groups include developmental play groups, social skills groups, parent support groups and motor skills groups. ⭐ Speech Therapy Superstars ⭐

Today for National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, we want to recognize and celebrate Heather and Lexie for their incredible dedication, leadership, and expertise they brings to our team!

💫 Heather - She has been part of our company through so much growth and change over the years, and throughout it all, she has remained such a steady, knowledgeable, and compassionate support for both our families and our staff. She has impacted the lives of so many children through her expertise working with young children, her specialized MYO knowledge, and her work supporting AAC device development and communication access for her patients.

Beyond the amazing work she does clinically, Heather also serves in the essential role of Training Coordinator. A role that requires tremendous organization, leadership, and heart. Heather plays a huge part in creating a positive & supportive experience for every employee who joins our team. So much of what Heather does happens behind the scenes, but the impact of her work can be seen throughout our entire center. Her commitment to helping both children and therapists succeed has helped shape the strong, collaborative environment we are so proud of today.

✨Lexie - She is such an important source of knowledge and encouragement for both our staff and the families we serve! Her passion and expertise in feeding have helped shape and strengthen this area of our program. Lexie has also dedicated so much time and energy to helping organize and grow our feeding program to better support mentorship, collaboration, and learning opportunities for other therapists interested in pursuing their feeding specialization.

Lexie's passion for the field and her incredible attention to detail and organization really shaped our feeding program and we are so grateful for the foundation she has laid for so many here! Lexie, your presence is appreciated and there are so many children, families, and teammates who enjoy spending sessions with you! Our center is better because of you and we are so grateful for the leadership, expertise, and heart you bring to our team.

It's the final week of Speech-Language-Hearing month! 🗣️👄🦻

Before the the party ends, we have to send some praise to these SLPs

🟠Lauren - Our Fearless Feeding Coordinator! She has such a genuine dedication to learning, growing, and sharing her knowledge of feeding and lactation support. Her enthusiasm for this specialty is contagious, and she consistently brings thoughtful insight and creativity to the children and families at our Center. We are so fortunate to have someone on our team with such a strong passion for helping children build healthy, positive relationships with feeding and communication.

Her knowledge spans such a wide range of ages and needs. She supports newborns and mothers in very early stages, she supports toddlers as they develop foundational feeding skills and positive experiences with food, and she helps older children work through picky eating and feeding challenges with patience and understanding. She approaches every family with care and individualized support, always striving to help children feel successful and confident.

🟣Sammy - Our Awesome AAC Coordinator! She has approached this role with incredible organization, initiative, and passion for helping children access communication and early language development. She has been working hard to support our SLPs in learning more about AAC options, improving access to resources, and creating systems that make collaboration between therapists more effective. We are already seeing so many positive results from her efforts.

She has helped strengthen communication so much for the speech department! Recommendations and strategies can now be easily shared & transferred between therapists, ultimately creating more consistency and support for the children. Her dedication to building knowledge & improving access to tools for our patients has been so appreciated. We are excited to continue watching this role grow & are so grateful for the energy, leadership, and thoughtfulness Sammy brings every day.

More shoutouts coming in! Let's give these "Speechies" their recognition! 🎉

🩵 Sophia - She works closely with many of our older learners spending time on literacy and language-based skills. She brings a thoughtful, steady approach to her sessions and continuously works to make learning engaging, meaningful, and individualized for each child she works with. At the same time, Sophia has developed tremendous skill and passion in supporting AAC users and helping young children gain access to communication from the very beginning.

She understands the importance of giving children a way to express themselves & works to help her patients build confidence, connection, and functional language skills. Watching her advocate for communication access and celebrate every success alongside her families has been so meaningful. Sophia’s willingness to take on new challenges, continue growing professionally, and support children across such a wide range of needs makes her such a valued member of our team.

❤️ Marlee - She brings so much care, teamwork, and dedication to her caseload each and every day. She consistently goes above and beyond for both her patients and her team, always stepping in to help, offer support, or provide coverage whenever needed. Her willingness to lend a hand and collaborate with others makes her such a valued and dependable part of our team. One of Marlee’s greatest strengths is the way she connects with adolescents and young adults.

She creates meaningful relationships with her patients while helping them feel comfortable, understood, and supported throughout their therapy journey. She is incredibly thoughtful in her approach and always asks insightful questions to better understand both her teams and her patients in order to recommend the best possible plan of care. Marlee’s compassion, curiosity, teamwork, and commitment to providing high-quality care truly shine through in everything she does!

~ National Speech-Language-Hearing Month ~

We have a wonderful team of Speech-Language Pathologists that does it all. From helping kids with communication techniques, eating new foods, and swallowing. All the way to using AAC devices and even playing on a Kickball team that competes here in the city. These All-Stars deserve to be celebrated so let's get started!

💛 Arlene - From the first day, she has brought such warmth, patience, compassion, and positivity into our center, and it is so evident in the connections she builds with her children and their families. She has a natural ability to meet children exactly where they are and works beautifully with kids of all ages and abilities. One of the many things that makes Arlene so special is her passion for AAC and helping children find their voices and confidence in communication.

Her dedication, creativity, and advocacy for her patients shines through in everything she does, and the impact she has already made in such a short amount of time has been incredible to witness. We are so grateful for all of the contributions Arlene has brought to our team already and are so excited for all that is ahead. Thank you, Arlene, for the heart, care, collaboration, and expertise you bring to our center every single day!

💚 Emerson - It has been incredible to watch her continue to build confidence, skills, and such a strong connection with both her patients and coworkers. She brings such a positive, fun, and engaging energy into every session and is always willing to jump in wherever she is needed. One of the many things that makes Emerson such a valuable part of our team is her versatility.

She has stepped into leading Academy groups in such a dynamic and creative way, creating an environment where children feel supported, encouraged, and excited to participate and learn. Her flexibility, positivity, and willingness to continue learning and growing make her such a strong team player and someone we can always count on. We are so grateful for all of the heart, dedication, and enthusiasm Emerson brings to our center every day.
