✨𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬 ✨
Meet Shalese Vaughn, our dedicated Unit Manager and Wound Care Coordinator. 💙

Born and raised on the west side of Chicago, Shalese is a proud mother of four whose passion for healthcare started early. Inspired by watching her mother earn her RN, BSN, she was drawn to the field as a child, even helping study and reading nursing books for fun.

Her journey began in 2004 as an EMT, followed by becoming a CNA in 2010. Since then, she has continued to grow, earning multiple CEUs and developing a strong focus in wound care. In 2024, she reached a major milestone by earning her LPN license, expanding her clinical knowledge and skills.

Shalese has continued her career with Complete Care at the Boulevard, where she has served as both a floor nurse and part-time wound care nurse. In October 2025, she stepped into her current role as Unit Manager and Wound Care Coordinator, where she thrives in advocating for her residents beyond the bedside.

She is currently attending Rasmussen University to earn her RN, BSN, with the goal of continuing to grow and make an even greater impact in healthcare.

We are proud to have Shalese on our team and grateful for the compassion, dedication, and leadership she brings every day 💙

🌟 Saturday Spotlight 🌟
During Administrative Professionals Week, we’re reminded how much happens behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. At Complete Care at The Boulevard, Victoria Jenkins, Business Office Manager, is at the heart of it all.

She’s often the first voice families hear on one of their hardest days. She listens, reassures, and brings a sense of comfort when it’s needed most. And no matter how busy things get, she never makes anyone feel like just another task. That’s what makes her so special.

Victoria’s mindset shows in how she supports our residents, families, and team every single day. Because of her, trust is built, relationships grow, and our community feels stronger.

We are so grateful for the heart she brings to everything she does. 💙

When someone you love is getting ready to leave the hospital, it’s easy to focus on one thing:
“Are they strong enough to come home?”
But here’s something many families don’t realize…

Being strong enough to walk isn’t the same as being ready to live safely at home.
Occupational Therapy helps patients relearn everyday tasks like:
✔️ Getting dressed
✔️ Showering safely
✔️ Preparing meals
✔️ Moving around the home with confidence

It’s one of the most important parts of recovery—and one of the most overlooked. We put together a simple guide to help you understand why it matters.💙

When most people think about rehabilitation after a hospital stay, they think of physical therapy—walking again, building strength, regaining mobility. But what many don’t realize is this: Getting stronger isn’t the same as being ready to go home. That’s where Occupational Therapy (OT) comes...

Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day.

This day is a reminder that your voice matters, especially when it comes to your health. Afterall, it is . Take time to talk with your loved ones, make your wishes known, and put your care preferences in writing. Planning ahead isn’t just smart, it’s an act of care. Here are five tips to help you have the right conversations.

1) You don't have to talk about everything, to everyone, all at once. The conversation of care should be an ongoing one as care journeys change.

2) Be patient. The idea of talking about healthcare directives can be overwhelming at first. Start off with small, quick conversations to get the ball rolling, and the longer, in-depth conversations will follow.

3) You don't have to lead the whole conversation. Allowing your loved ones to share their thoughts and concerns during these discussions is crucial. They may suggest something you hadn't yet considered.

4) Nothing you say is permanent. You can change your mind as often as you would like, but it starts with having conversations.

5) You may learn that your loved ones don't agree with your plans and wishes, and that's okay! The important thing is that you are having these conversations now and that you continue having them. This will ensure your loved ones will know your choices and follow through with them.
