Mark grew up in an idyllic midwestern suburb. The front door of his childhood home faced a forest preserve. As each year went by, the family would find more and more ways to feed the animals who lived in the woods. He and his father (both engineers) devised an elaborate pulley system to refill the bird feeders from inside the house. Visitors couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the variety of creatures who’d stop by. Upon graduating from university, Mark moved to the Silicon Valley. Photo No. 2 is Mark showing his favorite bougainvillea to his parents. He still owns both of these homes! If you drive by his childhood home, you can still see the deers and birds stopping by.
We’d love to see Mark continue being a champion for the forests, the oceans, and all the animals who live there. You can help by clicking on the link in the bio.
Mark is doing great right now, and is working very hard to stay healthy enough to receive a liver if one becomes available. His best shot is to find some kind and generous person who can spare a small piece of their liver. The donor’s liver will regenerate in a short time. And Mark will have many more years to advocate for bringing nature back into our lives.
Mark has been extraordinarily generous throughout his life. He’s paid it forward more than most. We’re praying someone out there in social media land will be generous and consider donating a small portion of their liver to Mark. Please click on the link in the bio to find out more.
