Language in anything is important to capture accuracy and respect.

*Childfree: Describes individuals who have made a conscious, active choice not to have children. The suffix “-free” emphasizes freedom and a lifestyle where the absence of children is viewed as a positive or liberating state.

*Childless: Generally refers to those who wanted children but could not have them due to infertility, circumstance (e.g., not finding the right partner), or other medical and life factors. The suffix “-less” implies a lack or something missing.

*Not yet parents refers to individuals who want children at some point and face no known social or biological barriers to having them.

Whichever the case, allowing people the space to navigate their own relationship to the concept of parenthood is deserving of respect without judgement or pressure.

Friday reset. Life is not only about the big moments; it’s about the quiet ones in between. Whatever stressors and uncertainties of daily life that you are navigating, your mind deserves a soft place to land.

FAB (free and balanced) Friday is about cultivating a mindset free from negative self-talk and balanced in perspective.

If navigating ART (assisted reproductive technology), with donor gametes (eggs, s***m, embryo) or surrogacy—the word “evaluation” can feel like a high-stakes test. The reality is far more supportive.

Here is the truth: It is not about finding a reason to reject someone just to say “no”. It is about ensuring the emotional tools and support systems are in place to say “yes” with clarity.

At Sava Healing, we aim for preparedness, not perfection.

Infertility comes with a lot of “shoulds” and shame. If you have been carrying these, this is your permission to sit them down. Which slide did you need most today?

Self-care is partly giving ourselves space to be human. Waiting for a result from a medical or legal outcome, emotions can feel complex. Taking care of yourself anytime, and especially during hard times, is the most healthy gift to ourselves. If in the wait for life-changing transitions, try these five self-care ideas:

The “Scheduled Worry” Window: Give yourself 10 minutes (pick a time of day) to feel all the feelings that arise. No judgment, no hiding, no ignoring, no blaming. Feel the feelings. When the timer stops, intentionally pivot to a physical task.

A “No-Search” Pact: Commit to staying off forums and search engines for advice, stories, etc for some time. Excessive and obsessive information-seeking often fuels anxious feelings rather than soothes it.

Gentle Sensory Input: Focus on things that ground the body such as a weighted blanket, a warm cup of herbal tea, or a playlist of “low-fi” beats or any calming music.

The “Future You” Perspective: Remind yourself that no matter the results, you have a plan for how to take the next step. Focus on one step at a time.

Low-Stakes Distraction: Engage in an activity that requires just enough focus to block out loops of thought, like a complex coloring book, a reading book, a puzzle, a word game, crafting, flower-arranging, and so forth.

Sending love and hugs.

The most profound lesson the seasons (weather) teach us is the nature of impermanence and the inevitability of seasons changing (life). We cannot control the shift from one season to the next, but we can control how we respond. Instead of fighting the current "season" of our lives, we can choose to adapt and flow with it.
Be patient: Adjusting to new seasons of life takes time just as adjusting from autumn to winter. Be patient with yourself and the process.

-Be adaptable: Clinging to old systems when a change comes can lead to frustration and burnout; adapting is wisdom.
-Find purpose: Each season, whether joyful or challenging, has a unique purpose and opportunity for personal growth.
-Stay grateful: Gratitude can help shift our focus from what we lack to what we have, in any season.

Life is a beautiful, cyclical journey. By observing and learning from the changing seasons, we can move through our own transitions with intention, grace, and hope for what is to come.

Setting healthy boundaries is essential for maintaining mental wellness and fostering relationships. It involves identifying your needs and values, communicating them clearly and directly, and consistently enforcing them with actions.

Key steps:
-Self-reflection to understand your limits
-Using "I" statements to express needs
-Being prepared to say "no" and follow through with consequences/actions when boundaries are crossed

By clearly defining personal limits, individuals can enhance their emotional well-being and create a supportive environment for themselves and others.
