As part of The University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, our mission includes community outreach, education on voice care, and the scientific exploration of all aspects of voice.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) are frequently used by performers for pain. Ibuprofen is a common remedy. Back in 2023, we gave a talk about some of the risks and ways in which we can be mindful.

We basically found that moderation is key and rest, elevation and warm or cool applications can help reduce how much medication one takes…
