Esperanza Health Centers Since 2004, Esperanza has been delivering care of the highest quality regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay.

Esperanza provides bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health, and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay. Esperanza Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center that operates five primary care clinics on Chicago’s Southwest Side for over 35,000 patients per year. Through the provision of a full range of bilingual, culturally appropriate primary and specialty care, behavioral health, and wellness services, we are improving health equity and reducing barriers to care for the residents of the medically underserved, primarily Latino communities we serve.

A little holiday magic to start the new year. As we kick off 2026, we are looking back at one of the most meaningful moments from last year.

Our Pictures with Santa event was nothing short of magical, and our hearts are full of gratitude. What made this day so special was not just the photos, but the people who came together to make it possible.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who donated gifts and to every volunteer who helped wrap them with care and love, including our Associate Board, Esperanza staff, and the . Your generosity helped bring joy to so many children and families.

We are deeply thankful to our Board members, especially Chris Segura, for stepping into the role of a truly jolly Santa, and to our CFO and Interim CEO, Ryan Gadia, for joining in the fun as Santa’s CEO, our Chief Elf Officer. Your presence made the day even more memorable.

A very special shout out to Tearsa Villagrán, who has supported this event for the past five years. Since starting in 2021, Tearsa’s generosity has continued to grow, and this year she donated over 1,000 gifts to help ensure every child felt the magic of the season. We are incredibly grateful for her continued commitment to our community.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Ofelia Figueroa and Maribel Rabadan, whose leadership, coordination, and dedication orchestrated such a beautiful and magical event. This celebration was a true reflection of what happens when a community comes together with heart.

As we welcome the new year, we wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and successful year ahead. Thank you for trusting Esperanza Health Centers with your care. We look forward to continuing to serve you in the year to come.

Please note that all clinics will operate on a regular schedule on Wednesday, December 31, will be closed on Thursday, January 1, and will resume regular hours on Friday, January 2.

Our Pictures with Santa event was nothing short of magical, and our hearts are full of gratitude. What made this day so special was not just the photos, but the people who came together to make it possible.

The holiday spirit is in full swing at Esperanza Health Centers! Our Associate Board and Esperanza staff recently came together to wrap gifts in preparation for our Pictures with Santa event happening this Friday, December 19th, at our Brighton Park North Clinic (red building) Community Room, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

We are excited to welcome families for an afternoon of festive fun. Each child in attendance will receive one gift while supplies last. Please remember to bring your camera to capture these special holiday moments.

During the holiday season, moments of connection matter. Across Esperanza, our teams are finding creative ways to spend time together, strengthen relationships, and recharge while continuing to serve our community with care.

Here, members of our HR team took a break to build a gingerbread house together, a small moment of joy that reflects the collaboration and teamwork behind the work we do every day.

Last week, we joined communities around the world in recognizing World AIDS Day, a moment to raise awareness, honor those affected by HIV, and reaffirm our commitment to expanding access to care and prevention.

Our community health advocate, Luis Lira, spent the day at our Brighton Park North clinic sharing test kits and essential information to help keep our community informed, supported, and empowered.

Esperanza remains dedicated to providing compassionate, stigma-free care for everyone in our community.

Our mission is to deliver health and hope for Chicago’s underserved communities.

In 2004, residents of the neighborhoods of Pilsen and Little Village on Chicago’s Southwest Side joined administrators from nearby Saint Anthony Hospital to address the critical lack of accessible health services in the area. They opened a community health center on South California Avenue called Esperanza, the Spanish word for “hope.”

Today, Esperanza provides bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay. Esperanza’s four sites in Brighton Park, Little Village, and Marquette Park deliver care to over 20,000 patients each year from communities across the Southwest Side.

In May, we opened a fourth, and largest, site in Brighton Park to serve an additional 20,000 patients each year with high quality healthcare. Our commitment to offering care of the highest quality is made clear by our designation as a National Quality Leader by HRSA in both 2016 and 2017, which ranks Esperanza among the top 3% of health centers in the nation and the top two in Illinois for our quality of care.
