Since 2004, Esperanza has been delivering care of the highest quality regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay.

Esperanza provides bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health, and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay. Esperanza Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center that operates five primary care clinics on Chicago’s Southwest Side for over 35,000 patients per year. Through the provision of a full range of bilingual, culturally appropriate primary and specialty care, behavioral health, and wellness services, we are improving health equity and reducing barriers to care for the residents of the medically underserved, primarily Latino communities we serve.

The 340B Program helps uninsured and low-income patients obtain the medications they need at reduced cost. It also allows health centers like Esperanza to reinvest savings into vital services that insurance does not fully cover, expanding care, strengthening programs, and responding to community needs.

Come stand with patients, providers, and advocates as we highlight why 340B matters and why protecting it is critical for the health of our neighborhoods.

We are proud to celebrate our residents and faculty who represented Esperanza Health Centers at the Rush University Medical Center Research Day. This annual event brings together residents to present research that advances patient care and strengthens community health.

This year, our team presented on critical topics including obstetrics training in underserved communities, injury management, medical education, pregnancy intention in primary care, and the impact of immigration enforcement on health.

We are especially proud to congratulate our team on winning the Most Scientifically Rigorous Award for their project, Implementing a Patient-Held Health Passport to Improve Health Information Access in Diabetes Care at Esperanza Health Centers–Brighton Park by Elsa García, MD, Juan C. Rojas, MD & Lizbeth M. García Rodríguez, MD

This past week, all of our Medical Assistants came together at our Brighton Park campus for a hands-on, interactive training led by our Operations team. Each station featured a passport-style stamp, making the experience engaging while reinforcing essential skills.

These moments offer just a glimpse into the dedication and teamwork behind the scenes. Our Medical Assistants and Operations team work every day to ensure you receive the highest quality care and the best possible patient experience.

Last week, Panorama PACE was proud to host the first official meeting of the newly formed PACE Association of Illinois, bringing together PACE organizations from across the state to collaborate, share insights, and strengthen advocacy efforts for older adults.

We were also honored to welcome Mary Killough, Director of the Illinois Department on Aging, for a meaningful conversation and a tour of Panorama PACE. We look forward to continuing this important work together to expand access to PACE across Illinois.

Yesterday, our patients, staff, and community partners came together alongside hundreds of advocates to stand up for the 340B Drug Pricing Program. The energy, unity, and shared purpose at the rally were powerful and inspiring.

The 340B program helps health centers like Esperanza provide affordable medications and essential health services to the communities we serve. Changes to this program would directly impact access to care for thousands of patients.

Now is the time to keep that momentum going. We encourage our community to reach out to their elected officials and urge them to protect 340B. Your voice matters, and together we can help ensure continued access to quality, affordable care.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose words and actions continue to remind us that our futures are deeply connected. His call for unity, dignity, and justice remains especially meaningful as our communities face uncertainty and challenges.

At Esperanza Health Centers, we stand with the Hispanic community in Chicago and with all those who believe in caring for one another, staying connected, and moving forward together. Dr. King’s legacy calls us not to stand apart, but to stand united, supporting one another with compassion and courage.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all Esperanza clinics will be closed today, Monday. We will resume regular clinic hours tomorrow.

In 2004, residents of the neighborhoods of Pilsen and Little Village on Chicago’s Southwest Side joined administrators from nearby Saint Anthony Hospital to address the critical lack of accessible health services in the area. They opened a community health center on South California Avenue called Esperanza, the Spanish word for “hope.”

Today, Esperanza provides bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay. Esperanza’s four sites in Brighton Park, Little Village, and Marquette Park deliver care to over 20,000 patients each year from communities across the Southwest Side.

In May, we opened a fourth, and largest, site in Brighton Park to serve an additional 20,000 patients each year with high quality healthcare. Our commitment to offering care of the highest quality is made clear by our designation as a National Quality Leader by HRSA in both 2016 and 2017, which ranks Esperanza among the top 3% of health centers in the nation and the top two in Illinois for our quality of care.
