Since 2004, Esperanza has been delivering care of the highest quality regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay.

Esperanza provides bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health, and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay. Esperanza Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center that operates five primary care clinics on Chicago’s Southwest Side for over 35,000 patients per year. Through the provision of a full range of bilingual, culturally appropriate primary and specialty care, behavioral health, and wellness services, we are improving health equity and reducing barriers to care for the residents of the medically underserved, primarily Latino communities we serve.

Last week we celebrated Medical Assistant Appreciation Week!

They ran for more than a finish line.

This weekend, our Esperanza Marathon Team didn’t just run 26.2 miles.
They ran for every patient who has ever fought for their health.
For every family who walks through our doors searching for care, for hope, for a chance.

Every mile carried a story of resilience, faith, and community.
Blisters, sweat, and tears became symbols of something greater:
the relentless heart of Esperanza. ❤️

Because here, we don’t give up when it gets hard.
We dig deeper. We find strength in each other.
And we keep moving, one step, one heartbeat, one act of hope at a time.

To our runners:
You reminded us that health isn’t a privilege. It’s a right worth running for.
You carried our mission with every stride.

And to every supporter who cheered, donated, or believed,
you were part of every mile.

Corrieron por algo más que una meta.

Este fin de semana, nuestro equipo del Maratón no solo recorrió 42 kilómetros.
Corrió por cada paciente que ha luchado por su salud.

Even amidst everything going on in our community, the Brighton Park North team found a moment to have fun! Football Friday was all about jerseys, smiles, and team spirit.

Our mission is to deliver health and hope for Chicago’s underserved communities.

In 2004, residents of the neighborhoods of Pilsen and Little Village on Chicago’s Southwest Side joined administrators from nearby Saint Anthony Hospital to address the critical lack of accessible health services in the area. They opened a community health center on South California Avenue called Esperanza, the Spanish word for “hope.”

Today, Esperanza provides bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay. Esperanza’s four sites in Brighton Park, Little Village, and Marquette Park deliver care to over 20,000 patients each year from communities across the Southwest Side.

In May, we opened a fourth, and largest, site in Brighton Park to serve an additional 20,000 patients each year with high quality healthcare. Our commitment to offering care of the highest quality is made clear by our designation as a National Quality Leader by HRSA in both 2016 and 2017, which ranks Esperanza among the top 3% of health centers in the nation and the top two in Illinois for our quality of care.
