Here’s a post from a favorite clinical herbalist of mine- green tea and some of its potentials for those that can take part. Simple and seemingly effective.

Green tea consumption has been linked to fewer cerebral white matter lesions in Japanese community-dwelling older adults without dementia. Researchers from institutions across Japan teamed up to analyse data from 8,766 volunteers over the age of 65, collected as part of a survey conducted between 2016 and 2018. Self-reported green tea and coffee consumption was cross-referenced against magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans, which measured overall brain volume and features of five different brain regions.

Multivariable-adjusted analysis revealed significant correlations between fewer cerebral white matter lesions and higher green tea consumption, whereas no significant differences were found between green tea consumption and hippocampal or total brain volume. Regarding coffee consumption, no significant differences were observed in cerebral white matter lesions or hippocampal or total brain volumes. The effect was relatively small, being less than 10% between the highest and lowest green tea consumption.

Given previous investigations linking green tea with lower blood pressure, and other studies associating lower blood pressure with a reduced risk of dementia, at least one mechanism responsible for the results could be cardiovascular.

"Moreover, green tea contains less caffeine than coffee, which negatively affects blood pressure, thus suggesting that green tea may have a more beneficial impact on white matter lesions," write the researchers.

The authors stated that their findings indicate that drinking green tea, especially three or more glasses per day, may help prevent dementia.

Given the small effect observed, green tea should be just one element of any strategy aimed at reducing these lesions. A more comprehensive phytonutrient approach, as per my microcirculation diet, should have a greater impact.

As of late I have received more inquiry about genetic testing then ever before and while there is great merit to gene impact on an individuals life and health the answer to “if it will help you or not” really comes down to- “maybe” as the question is missing context and eludes to a field that is still murky at best. Sure we have all heard stories of pros using state of the art testing at costs well above the average individuals comfort zone and being reviewed by a team of professionals to squeeze out the last ounce of genetic potential but is this in fact reasonable or even currently necessary? On the other side we have those with full blown genetic disorders that are clearly helped with identification. We also have many test interpretation groups that often fail to take into consideration what is arguably the most important part and that is the epigenetic (lifestyle) factors responsible for gene expression. With the current happenings of 23&me further muddying the waters. For those that have had results after run of the mill testing this is not to deter you from celebrating the notable changes you may have had after “discovery” but to provide the things not talked about so anyone can feel more comfortable moving forward, whatever direction is desired. A quick an interesting read showing one mechanism behind symptoms often assumed to be only musculoskeletal which are actually being driven by dysfunction elsewhere. Summary: digestive problems can drive neck pain and dysfunction while neck dysfunction can also drive digestive problems.
This is one of the more interesting things to see and shift for someone in practice, it’s also one of the most rewarding; when a person experiences dramatic results from removing an obstruction in a seemingly unrelated area it immediately gets them to question what else can taking care of ones “operating system” accomplish. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9947977/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJJpIFleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHc4ZL3HEnwp2Whvn03snyOjMO-MSuYunx-FFh6m7v5pJU0BpfnNUp2btJA_aem_wjxK3bUhVcH0KM9a8gwQ9w

If you have taken the opportunity to challenge yourself by digging into this series I applaud you: its arduous/demanding information, however increasing ones individual understanding of our world/health complexities seems appropriate for challenging times. If you have questions or want to understand how this info may apply to you give the clinic a call. (careful of the comments section-it deviates into controversial territories).

For you cell dorks out there take a deep dive into this part 1 article: An interesting read explaining how chronic illness begins and gains traction. Pointing out the inevitable complexities that must be addressed (that quite frankly are handled very poorly in conventional models). Root cause analysis is more important than ever, the REALITY is we need to be more dedicated to stepping up early and willing to follow a STRATEGIC method of care to regain wellness. Yes some of us clinicians know how to navigate these paths.
Enjoy.

Understanding the CDR is critical for treating treating spike protein injuries and many other complex illnesses.

Hey all, as we crash into the holiday season I would like to extend a reminder for each of us to help out somewhere by giving. I know at times it can be hard especially when finding out how often larger charities are not following through with what is claimed. So please consider giving locally to small organizations where your money may serve a community. As a consideration I would encourage any to check out https://wilderwaterscommunity.org. I personally know this group and can state without a doubt your money is accomplishing something unique here.
