Meet our hostess, Kayla!
Kayla Davis is a skilled marketing professional and former TV news personality currently serving as a Marketing and Communications Specialist for a health system in the Oklahoma City metro area. With a strong background in journalism and a vibrant personality, Kayla made her mark as a dynamic anchor, reporter, and producer for the local NBC and FOX affiliate in Northwest Arkansas.
Growing up in Southern Illinois near St. Louis, Kayla developed a passion not only for watching Blues hockey and Cardinals baseball but also for media and community engagement. Her love for storytelling began in the sixth grade when she turned an assignment to read the morning announcements on her school district’s television system into a one-man-band news broadcast, complete with a makeshift teleprompter and weather forecasts. From that moment, Kayla knew she wanted to pursue a career in television.
Kayla graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish. Her enthusiasm for connecting with others has always been a significant part of her personality, which translates into her personal life, where she is driven by the idea of bringing helpful knowledge to her audience in an engaging and approachable manner.
Her love for people and performing began with dance. Kayla took her first ballet class at three years old and danced competitively in various genres, including jazz, tap, and hip-hop. During this time, she traveled across the country and met new people. Today, she continues to embrace dance as a hobby, taking two-step lessons with her fiancé, Grant, and picking up choreography from local dance studios with friends.
You can often find Kayla on a golf course, in a tree stand deer hunting, or on a lake fishing and boating with her family. Unless it’s Saturday in the fall, when she’ll be cheering on her Sooners during a football game. Kayla never turns down a chance to watch live music or eat good food, seeing these as fun ways to learn about and connect with others.
Kayla’s career in TV news honed her skills as a storyteller, adept at clear verbal and written communication. Her sharp interview techniques and dedication to factual reporting shine throughout her role as the host of “Your Health Matters.” Kayla’s ability to share impactful stories and connect with her audience is a crucial part of her work, making her a reliable voice in both news and healthcare communications.
