There is something incredibly special that happens inside our doors each day at HOPE. Laughter is shared, stories are remembered, and even in the midst of memory loss, connection continues to shine through.

But what makes it all possible… is people.

We are opening our hearts and our doors to those who feel called to make a difference. If you have ever wanted to bring light into someone’s day, to sit beside someone and simply be, or to be part of something truly meaningful, we would love to welcome you.

🌲Today we enjoyed a beautiful outing at Bille Park in Paradise. The trails led us through peaceful scenery filled with waterfalls, creek crossings, and charming bridges, all opening up to stunning views of Butte Creek Canyon.

From the tree-lined paths to the elevated viewpoints, every part of the park offered something special to take in. This space continues to grow and offer more for the community, and it was wonderful to experience it together.

Our guests truly loved the day, and it was a meaningful time spent outdoors.

🌲A beautiful afternoon of fresh air and movement, at the South Pines Disc Golf Course in Magalia. The peaceful forest setting made it the perfect place for our guests to walk, explore, and enjoy a little friendly fun tossing discs while soaking in the sunshine and pine trees.

We are incredibly grateful to the amazing hosts at the Pro Shop who welcomed us so warmly. They kindly helped us with a course map and made sure our group felt comfortable navigating the area. That kind of community support means so much!

Thank you to everyone for such a great day!

There is something truly special about the people who give their time simply to bring joy to others. Today we want to take a moment to recognize one of those beautiful hearts here at HOPE.

Each Wednesday that she is able, our wonderful VOLUNTEER CANDACE walks through our doors and fills our home with warmth, kindness, and the comforting aromas of a lovingly prepared meal. With a true chef’s heart, she generously shares her passion for cooking with our participants, creating moments that are about far more than food. Her meals spark conversation, bring smiles, and remind us all of the power of gathering together around something made with love.

Candace brings not only her culinary talent, but also a spirit of generosity and compassion that reflects everything we value here at HOPE.

Candace, thank you for blessing our HOPE home with your delicious dishes and your heart! We appreciate you more than words can express!

February 27, 2026 at HOPE, we were deeply honored to spend time in Paradise with the incredible team at Habitat for Humanity of Butte County.

This visit held special meaning for us. Many of our own families, friends, and community members were impacted by the Camp Fire, and being present on the ridge to support rebuilding is close to our hearts. We gathered in gratitude and reflection, standing alongside a Camp Fire survivor returning home and taking part in the beautiful journey of rebuilding with the support of Habitat for Humanity.

What an extraordinary reminder of resilience, compassion, and community strength. We are so thankful for the work Habitat for Humanity continues to do and for the opportunity to support such a meaningful cause. Hope truly lives here.

At HOPE, volunteering is not just something extra. It is everything.

Every smile shared, every hand held, every moment of patience and kindness given by our volunteers becomes part of the heartbeat of our program. You show up with love, compassion, and open hearts, and because of you, our guests feel seen, valued, and safe.

Volunteers are the reason laughter fills our rooms. You are the reason meaningful connections happen every single day. You are the reason HOPE continues to stand strong and grow with purpose. We truly could not do this work without you.

Volunteering is powerful. It builds community, restores dignity, and reminds us that human connection still matters deeply. When someone gives their time to serve others, they give a piece of their heart, and that gift changes lives, including our own.

To every volunteer who has walked through our doors, thank you. You are not just helpers. You are family. You are HOPE.

We are always looking for compassionate hearts to join the HOPE family!

If you have a little time to give and a big heart for serving others, volunteering at HOPE can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we care for every day. We would be truly grateful to welcome you.

If you feel called to help, please reach out to Jessica at 530.592.9083 to learn more about how you can be part of something truly special. đź’™

What an unforgettable day on the California State University, Chico campus at the beautiful Janet Turner Print Museum 🤍

Our guests were warmly welcomed with a private tour led by the incredible Kathleen, Education and Public Programs Coordinator, who along with her colleagues created such a meaningful, engaging, and joyful experience. From learning the history of letterpress printing to seeing the artistry and intention behind each print.

Watching our guests light up as they explored the presses and shared stories reminded us why community based cultural experiences matter so deeply. This was not just a museum visit. It was hands on learning, dignity, and purpose wrapped into one beautiful afternoon.

We are beyond grateful for the kindness, patience, and heart shown by the Janet Turner Museum team. Experiences like this nurture the mind and create memories that truly matter.

Most people think dementia begins in old age, but decades of research show the biological processes behind Alzheimer’s and other dementias often start in our twenties and thirties. Emerging science also suggests that proteins like amyloid and tau, long seen as harmful, may actually serve protective roles in the brain for years before cognitive symptoms appear.

In this blog, we explore how early adulthood choices, exercise, nutrition, sleep, social engagement, and lifelong learning can build cognitive resilience and influence brain health for decades. Prevention is not something to start later in life; it begins now.

Read our full blog to understand the hidden timeline of dementia and learn actionable steps for protecting your brain.

How Early Adulthood Choices Influence Brain Health Decades LaterWhen most people think about dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, they picture memory loss in someone in their seventies or eighties. In reality, the biological processes that lead to dementia begin decades before any symptoms appear. Foc...

What a truly beautiful day spent with our guests soaking in the magic of almond blossom season 🤍🌸

We enjoyed a peaceful driving tour through Durham, along the Durham-Dayton Highway, the Midway, Roble Road, and all the way to Blossom Lane. Everywhere we looked, the orchards were bursting with soft white blooms, reminding us how healing nature can be.

Moments like these slow us down, spark joy, and create meaningful memories together. We are so grateful for days filled with beauty, friendship, and fresh air shared with our Hope family.
