Cordi Winery is a boutique family farmed and operated vineyard and winery at the base of the Sutter Buttes. For a decade, they have handcrafted Farm-to-Cork style estate wines.

We are very excited to have Katie Nyby as our 2025 artist for the Downtown Chico Art & Wine Walk! Her art will be displayed the entire month of October at Hydration Happens!

A long-time Chico resident, Katie Nyby brings a dynamic and emotionally expressive energy to her artwork through both abstract and landscape-inspired paintings. Her pieces range from large, vibrant abstracts that explore nature’s palette, to smaller, richly textured intimate works that are reminiscent of old photographs or moments paused in time.

Katie navigates two distinct but interconnected styles. Her larger abstract works burst with layered textures and organic movement, using a mix of acrylics and textural media to create depth and atmosphere. In contrast, her smaller landscape-inspired paintings are deeply rooted in emotion and memory, defined by their tactile surfaces and evocative natural scenes.

Whether it’s a fiery sunset, a rugged cliff, or an abstract storm of color, Katie’s art is expressive, dynamic, and meant to make you feel. Her work honors the richness of the natural world through expressive color, layered surfaces, and a sense of grounded nostalgia. She embraces the freedom to explore and evolve through contrasting styles, letting each approach inform the other in a continuous cycle of creative growth.
