Illuminating Astrology 🌌

Have you ever wondered what a rising sign is, why it matters which house your moon is in, or what an astrological house even is? If so, this workshop’s for you!

We’re going to break down the essentials of astrology - planets, signs and houses so you can understand the core language of the stars. Perfect for beginners and anyone else that wants to strengthen their foundational understanding of astrology.

The workshop will be guided by Justin of Mayuri Healing Arts. Justin is a yogi, mystic and astrologer with a background in Jyotish, or “Vedic Astrology’. Justin has a grounded and understandable way of communicating esoteric knowledge, you won’t want to miss this!

Another teacher training weekend all wrapped up. Huge shoutout to the students who showed up fully and pushed past their fears of getting upside down. 🙃

We explored strength, flexibility, mobility, and how to actually apply all the geeky stuff into your practice-especially in tricky skills like Pincha and deep backbends.

I truly love watching light bulbs 💡 turn on throughout training and seeing their courage shine through as they learn to become teachers.

🌟New Teacher Announcement🌟

✨ Come and welcome our new instructor,
Sara!

Sara is one of Empower’s teacher training graduates and we’re so excited to have her on our team.

Born and raised in Sitka, Alaska, and a Chico resident since 2012, Sara has always felt deeply connected to the natural world. Her years as a Fish & Wildlife Technician took her to incredible places, including the Middle East, but a life-altering illness in 2014 shifted her path toward holistic healing, spirituality, and indigenous wisdom. This journey led her to create The Rabbit Hole, her business of over 5 years, where she shares herbal knowledge, music, movement, art, and community.

Now a certified yoga teacher through Empower Hot Yoga (2025), Sara sees movement as a celebration of the body, accessible to all regardless of limitations. She hosts and co-hosts wellness events, women’s circles, and community gatherings, weaving together sound, color, nature, and movement as one.

🌟New Teacher Announcement🌟

✨ Come and welcome our new instructor,
Gracie!

Gracie is one of Empower’s teacher training graduates and we’re so excited to have her on our team.

Gracie is a 17-year-old senior at Pleasant Valley High School, where she is a varsity cheerleader. She has been cheering for seven years, but cheer is just one of her many passions. Gracie currently holds the title of Miss Teen Chico 2024 and will be competing for Miss California Teen USA 2025 this August. She is beyond excited for this opportunity—not just to compete, but to share her passion for self-love, authenticity, and teen empowerment on a larger stage. At just 16 years old, Gracie completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Empower Hot Yoga. Through her own journey, she discovered that yoga helps teens connect with their most confident and authentic selves. That belief is at the core of every class she teaches and every interaction she has within her community. As a teen instructor, her mission is to share the transformative power of yoga with others—supporting not just the body, but the mind and heart, too, amplifying that message to reach more teens who need it.
