The memorial service for Brooke Quilici will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Park (11115 Midway, Chico, CA 95928), with a Celebration of Life at 12:30pm at Butte Home Health (10 Constitution Drive, Chico, CA 95973). All are welcome to attend either or both events.

We are deeply saddened to share that Brooke Diane Quilici, founder of Butte Home Health, passed away on Friday at the age of 75.

On October 1, 1984, Brooke and her husband, Michael Steven Quilici, opened the doors to Butte Home Health with a dream- to bring compassionate, high-quality care into the homes of those who needed it most. What began as a small Chico startup with a handful of staff quickly grew through word of mouth, guided by Brooke’s vision, perseverance, and heart.

Through challenges and milestones- from launching the North State’s first Medicare-certified hospice to serving tens of thousands of patients - Brooke’s commitment to excellence remained constant. Her legacy lives on in every nurse, therapist, aide, and team member who carries forward the mission she and Mike began over forty years ago.

We honor Brooke’s extraordinary life, her compassion, and her enduring impact on the communities we serve.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 23rd. Details will be posted in the comments.

Concerned about home health & hospice cuts in Chico?

Here’s what you need to know:
This isn’t a reduction—it’s an expansion.

With Enloe’s transition away from home health and hospice, Butte Home Health has stepped in as a Preferred Provider to continue and grow these vital services in our community.

We’re expanding, hiring, and ready to care for more patients than ever. Read our latest blog post to learn how this change means more care, not less.

We’ve seen recent headlines expressing concern about the closure of Enloe’s Home Health and Hospice services—and we understand the worry. But here’s what we want our community to know:

This change does not mean fewer services. In fact, it’s opening the door to more care, more access, and more support for patients and families throughout Butte County.

Butte Home Health has been named a Preferred Provider by Enloe Health, and we’re actively expanding our team and capacity to serve more people than ever. We’re committed to ensuring no one goes without the home health or hospice care they need.

To the community: We are here.
To the families: We are ready.
To the Enloe team members affected: We’re opening our doors and welcoming you.

Compassionate, high-quality care at home is what we’ve always done—and now we’re doing it on an even greater scale.

Butte Home Health is proud to be named a Preferred Provider by Enloe Health for patients transitioning from hospital to home. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to high-quality, compassionate care—and to making sure every patient’s recovery journey is safe, seamless, and supported.

We’re deeply grateful to Enloe Health for the trust they’ve placed in us. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a respected organization in serving our community with heart and excellence.

The decision to close its home health and hospice services allows Enloe to focus resources on acute and ambulatory care services. The closure will impact about 75 Enloe employees.

The Butte Home Health and Hospice family is deeply saddened by this news. To us, Bronson was more than a Chaplain—he was a cornerstone of our hospice family for nearly 30 years. He walked alongside thousands of patients and their loved ones, offering strength, comfort, and compassion during life’s most sacred moments.
For many of us, Bronson’s impact went far beyond the workplace. He supported us personally—helping us grieve, presiding over memorials, celebrating marriages, and simply being someone we could turn to when life felt overwhelming. His kindness and wisdom were always within reach.
His legacy at Butte Hospice is immeasurable, and his presence will be missed more than words can express.
A public Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 3:00 pm, in the Worship Center of Grace Community Church. Details are in the link.
If you have any thoughts or memories with Bronson, we'd love to hear about them in the comments below.
