With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Daniel Gregory Diestel, who peacefully passed late 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, friend, and visionary entrepreneur whose legacy touched so many. We apologize for the delay of this announcement, but the loss has been immense.
Dan was more than the founder and driving force behind DIESTCO Manufacturing; he was a true innovator who dedicated over three decades to creating products that enhanced independence and dignity for people who use various mobility devices. From the first WeatherBreaker™ canopy conceived in his garage to a company known nationwide for thoughtful, high-quality mobility accessories, his work made everyday life a little easier for countless individuals.
He faced life with courage, creativity, compassion and a constant fighting spirit. Even through a nine-year battle with cancer, he always lifted others up with his energy, passion, and heart. Whether he was building a business rooted in purpose, supporting the Chico California community through multiple philanthropies, or cheering on his beloved San Francisco 49ers and SF Giants, Dan lived life fully and with deep love for those around him.
As we grieve his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire. In lieu of flowers or sympathies, donations may be made in his honor to causes that reflect his spirit of accessibility and compassion, including: Ian’s Ride, the American Cancer Society, and Special Olympics Northern California.
Thank you, Dan. We will never forget your vision, your kindness, your fighting spirit and the profound difference you made in the world. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. ❤️
