A Face Book Farewell from Jean Louise Green CMT, Certified Rolf PractitionerAs she closes her practice of 22 years in Chico, CA
In January of 2023, I closed my Massage Therapy/Structural Integration business titled, Jean Louise Green, CMT, Certified Rolf Practitioner, after 22 years of service here in Chico, CA. This is a big turning point for me, and one that I would like to share with you. In doing so, I say “Thank You” to the people and community of Chico, my clients and colleagues who have helped me grow my skill, and benefit from the things I have learned from all of you!
I have been a very busy person since I came to Chico in July of 1999. Here are some relevant things that I have accomplished:
• 1991: Completion of Certified Basic Structural Integration training with the Guild for Structural Integration.
• 2004-2118: Ongoing teaching of basic and advanced Deep Tissue Classes as a massage school instructor in Chico.
• 2019: Completion of Certified Advanced Structural Integration training with the Guild for Structural Integration.
• 2019: I became a published author with Inner Traditions
* Bear & Company for a Structural Integration book that I wrote over a 7-year period that is designed to accompany a client through their 10-session series. The book title is, Structural Integration and Energy Medicine: A Handbook of Advanced Bodywork, with a Foreword by Biophysicist, James L. Oschman, Ph.D.
• 2019: I became an ongoing student and certified practitioner of Aka Dua, a form of subtle energy healing in the Toltec Philosophy.
• My professional memberships have included: The Guild for Structural Integration (GSI), The International Association of Structural Integration, (IASI), Associated Bodywork & Massage Professional Inc., (ABMP), California Massage Therapy Council, (CAMTC). In 2022, IASI asked me to present another webinar because of the overwhelmingly positive response to my first webinar in 2021. So with the great help of Scott once again, I created and presented a teaching webinar about how to assess and address myofascial rotation patterns in the body through the 10-session series, that I have been developing in the past ten years. During my years of Structural Integration work with clients, I have also inspired and encouraged a handful of people to become Certified Practitioners of Structural Integration. I have also helped to train many students of massage therapy in proper body mechanics and techniques for deep tissue work.
In wrapping up my work here in Chico, I can definitely look back and say that I have been a good “Force with a Purpose” here in Chico. I sense that I am leaving Chico a better place in the upgraded quality of bodywork being done here, since my arrival in July of 1999 with my significant partner, Benjamin Hills.
Now we prepare to head off to the next part of our lives where we will be closer to family and actively participate in grandparenting as I shift into a retired or semi-retired mode.
The people I would love to acknowledge as our Chico angels include, Willow and Ron Dejesus, who have been instrumental in bringing a lot of fun into our lives through the years. Willow has also spearheaded a Gratitude Group that I have been part of for years where we dive into the deeper aspects of our human experience.
I would also like to acknowledge Rosemary Quinn for her friendship and great editing skills of my Structural Integration book. Katarra Shaw for her great Structural Integration skills in the work that we have given and received with each other through the years. Scott Amick, for his service in assisting me with my two IASI webinars. Candi Williamson for dedicating herself to acquiring numerous massage skills and developing a great massage clinic here in Chico called “Creating A Sustainable You,” and a Certified School of Massage called “Chico Massage School.”
Thank you Candi for following your heart and bringing these great services to Chico. And last and certainly not least is my partner, Benjamin Hills whose ongoing support and love have allowed me to accomplish these things. And a very Big “Thank you” to my clients!
