Five years ago, the Butte-Glenn Medical Society Board launched Healthy Rural California to confront the growing access-to-care crisis in our region.

What began as a vision — shaped by local physicians, grounded in rural needs, and fueled by determination — became reality last night as they welcomed the first class of Family Medicine and the second class of Psychiatry Residents into the community.

We’re proud to stand alongside them in this important work.

Last night’s Spring Dinner, co-hosted by Healthy Rural California and the Butte-Glenn Medical Society (BGMS), brought together healthcare leaders, students, and community members for a powerful evening focused on access to care and the rural health needs of California.

It was more than a dinner - it was a meaningful conversation about the future of rural healthcare in our region.

We proudly recognized this year’s BGMS Scholarship recipients: Angelyna Yang, Jayden Stable, and Kiran Singh. Congratulations to these future healthcare professionals - we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make.
