Whether you’re passionate about supporting older adults, mentoring youth, or connecting with neighbors in need, there’s a place for you to serve:

✨ Volunteer with AmeriCorps Seniors Programs ✨
• Foster Grandparent Program – Be a mentor and friend to children, helping with reading and social development.
• Senior Companion Program – Provide companionship and support to older adults who want to stay independent — from friendly visits to rides to appointments.
• RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) – Choose your own schedule and serve with partner organizations across the community.
• Medical Chaperone Volunteers – Support older adults by providing door-through-door assistance to medical appointments and more.

All volunteers receive training and support so you can feel confident serving in roles that match your interests and skills.

Did you know that Passages Adult Resource Center offers Long-Term Care Ombudsman services right here in Chico and the surrounding counties? 🧓🏽👴🏾

Our Ombudsman program is dedicated to advocating for residents living in nursing homes and residential care facilities — ensuring that their rights, dignity, and quality of life are protected. If a loved one is in long-term care and you have concerns about their treatment, care decisions, safety, or living conditions, the Ombudsman team is here to help investigate and work toward a resolution.

• Advocate for residents’ rights and well-being
• Investigate concerns or complaints about care or living situations
• Work to resolve disputes with care providers
• Support dignity and quality of life for long-term care residents
