FULL DESCRIPTION:
Figure Drawing: Sessions include warm-up exercises and instruction to render the figure from observation with gestural lines. Includes discussion of anatomy landmarks, contemporary and historical artists, building dimensionality of the figure from shapes and value using a variety of line techniques, and exercises to develop observational skills. This session is tailored to the individual participant, group, and environment, and can lead to intermediate and advanced depending on interest. Drawing from the live clothed model may be included reflecting participant interest. (graphite, conte, charcoal, smudge cloth, kneaded eraser, etc).
Painting: This summer explore feminine symbols, archetypes, and myths through art making. The session includes materials; a small or large canvas and choice of color and your chosen imagery. Techniques and skills will be shared. Bobbie encourages developing the creative process, and will have a variety of images to trace or transfer onto canvas, (or bring your own)! Discussion, slideshow, and other techniques may be used to encourage participants to develop creative and divergent thinking in the art-making process. (Acrylic paint & canvas).
Journaling & Sketching: Skills and techniques in a variety of media are used to activate creative pathways and processes to observe the inner and outer world. This session has a lot of ideation activities and creative skill-building for planning- skills that are used for brainstorming for creating a work of art- or can be used as a meaningful therapeutic method for ongoing personal practice. (As an artist, I spend most of my time in these exploratory processes). The imagination is likened to a muscle and like a muscle needs to be massaged and strengthened. Discussion, slideshows, and other co-creating activities will assist with developing creative and divergent thinking, the type of thinking that frees the imagination to explore with wonder and awe. (~ 9X12 sketchbook, drawing media, wet media, collage materials, glue stick, etc.).
Community Chalk Drawing: Drawing On Earth a non-profit connecting arts to schools, families and communities. We work on growing relationship through the cultivation of a creative mind, body, heart, and soul; connecting them to each other, to themselves and to their environment. Through this organization, I facilitate chalk drawings with families usually connected to an event or celebration. www.drawingonearth.org FREE!
