What Age Can My Child be Tested for Irlen Syndrome❓

Most children can be assessed from kindergarten or the age of 5 when they are able to start to report and understand questions that are being asked of them.
Testing should be done as soon as the child starts to struggle to pick up phonics and tasks such as writing numbers or their name.
If Irlen is in the family or the child is particularly light sensitive, an assessment can be done at a younger age, however it is more reliant on watching body language and the parents need to be more involved in the testing as they know their child better than anyone.
Young children should be re-assessed once they start school to ensure the tint is optimal for their school needs and suitable for the brightly lit classroom.

Dear Susan,

I wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for your help with my glasses.

Since receiving them, the change has been truly incredible. I used to experience daily headaches, and now they’ve reduced to maybe once a month. Beyond that, my ability to focus has improved in a way I didn’t think was possible.

In fact, since getting my glasses, I’ve written three children’s books. I’m not entirely sure how to explain it, but these glasses have genuinely been life-changing for me.

Madison is happiest to report a significant reduction in her migraines, after wearing her glasses. There are so many other improvements that she attributes to her glasses, but feels like she could not live without them now, that the headaches have stopped!
