At the Krist Irlen Clinic (Houston/Galveston) we always check what has improved, since wearing the Irlen glasses, and whether this has led to any success stories. Victor’s dad called me especially to say that Victor’s graduation wouldn’t have been possible without his Irlen glasses and the services we provide. Amazing news Victor! Your hard work and regular filter checks have paid off! No more moving text, headaches and sore eyes when reading or working on the computer.

After years of pushing screens into classrooms, Sweden is pulling back.

The country is shifting students toward books, handwriting, and traditional learning methods again. Not because technology failed. But because balance did.

Educators began noticing something troubling.
Heavier screen dependence was being linked to weaker reading comprehension, shorter attention spans, and gaps in foundational skills, especially among younger students.

Research has long suggested that writing by hand strengthens memory formation.
Reading on paper tends to support deeper focus and retention compared to purely digital formats.

Run Fact: Multiple cognitive studies have found that handwriting activates more complex neural pathways linked to memory and learning than typing alone.

This isn’t a rejection of technology.
It’s a recalibration.

Digital tools can enhance learning.
But they were never meant to replace the fundamentals.

Sweden’s move is now fueling a larger global question.
In the race toward innovation, did classrooms move too fast?

They make such a difference. One morning I had to pick up my son for work. It was dark outside still, and I was so nervous. I thought I'll try my glasses, and they sure did help. Thank you so much.
I really love my glasses

If Irlen has nothing to do with eyesight, then why do people wear glasses?

Irlen Syndrome is a visual processing difficulty, where the brain is unable to efficiently and accurately process the visual information seen by the eyes. Glasses with coloured lenses in them is the only way to protect the brain from the wavelengths of light (colours) that it is unable to process correctly.
There is no other way light gets to our brain except through our eyes.

The lens colour is chosen through a 2 hour comprehensive assessment based around visually intensive tasks including reading, and is specific to each individual.
