Curious about acupuncture? I find it helps with my allergy/sinus issues and some work related injuries I have sustained, like tendinitis in both elbows. I call massage elbows, is actually tennis and golfers, I have never played either sport but have been in my field for 20 years this month 🤗 You know, in school our teachers said we are massage athletes. I am thankful for finding acupuncture, it’s one of the things I do so that I am able to do my job better!
What to Expect in Your First Visit
Walking into a new clinic can feel weird. Especially when you don't know what's going to happen.
Here's what your first visit actually looks like:
We talk. I need to understand what's going on—not just your main complaint, but how you sleep, what your energy is like, how your digestion works, what your cycles are doing. In Chinese Medicine, everything connects.
Then we look. I'll check your tongue and take your pulse. (Yes, really. Your pulse tells me a ton about what's happening internally.)
Then you rest. You'll be in a comfy recliner chair fully clothed (we only need access to arms, legs, sometimes head). I'll place hair-thin needles in specific points—most people don't even feel them go in.
Then you breathe. You rest for as long as you like, we recommend a minimum of 20 minutes, sometimes people zonk out for up to an hour. Most people fall asleep or go into that deep, floaty relaxation state.
That's it. No pressure. No weird stuff. Just your body getting the space to start shifting. Ready to try it?
