24 years of caring, comforting, and creating connection. 💙 When we asked Betsy what keeps her The Arbors at Amherst after all these years, her answer was simple: the people. Not only the residents and families she serves, but the team she works alongside every day. “I treat our residents like my own mother,” she shared. From straightening a collar and fixing a button to sharing laughs in the hallway, Betsy shows up each day with one goal: helping residents feel proud, comfortable, and truly at home. “They crack me up. I crack them up too.”
Over the years, her role has grown from Activities Coordinator to Office Manager, but her heart for people and her love for her coworkers has never changed. She often talks about how much she enjoys working with the team and how grateful she is for the support, laughter, and care they share together. You’ll still find her walking residents to the dining room, encouraging them to join activities, and greeting families at the front desk with a smile. For families navigating the emotional decision to move a loved one into assisted living, Betsy offers comfort and reassurance. “You’re going to be able to breathe once they move in,” she says. “We’re going to take care of them. You get to come in and just enjoy your time together.”
And what makes her proudest? “The residents like me. The families like me. What more can you ask for?”
This is the difference at The Arbors & The Ivy. Care rooted in connection. Relationships built on heart. A place that truly feels like family. Thank you, Betsy, for 24 years of making this place feel like home.
