I recently heard a good friend of mine, who I will just call Scott, preach 2 very powerful and soul searching sermons. One of the topics was a very time sensitive one. Scott reminded us, me in particular, that people need the Lord. People all around us. People we come incontact every day of the week. People who are lost and wandering in a society that has become very dark and evil. Confused people. Misguided people. Angry people. Hurting people. People with hope.
His secound topic offered us a very simple way to rememnber what is expected of us as beleavers in the Gospel message of hope and salvation. He said that what we need to do is "see a need, plant the seed". That simple phrase resignated with me a profound way. So often we are worried that we are note able to share Jesus with people. Scott reminded us in Scripture that we simply need to recognize a need in a person situation and help to "fill that need". Then we can plant the seed of God's Word in their life.
Scott also reminded us that it is not our job to save people. God and the Holy Spirit do that. We just need to plant the seed. I often here misguided people claim to have saved a person. No, they have saved noone. God is in the business of saving people. We are simpy farmers in the "field ripe for harvest."
So, if you are reading this and are like me, hesitant to tell others about Christ, remember Scott's challenge. "See the need. Plant the seed." That is our call to serve Him. Thank you my brother for opening my eyes to this simple truth.
I have changed focus with my blog. Leaving politics to others. I will be posting about my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I have deleted my past posts am am starting fresh. Please follow me as I share hope and truth to anyone who will consider what I am doing. Please feek free to comment below and share your thoughts and prayer concerns.
