⚠️ BREAKING: Possible abuse of office and illegal entry involving a Missouri State Senator (Cindy O’Laughlin) and the Shelby County Historical Society.
Three weeks ago, Kathleen Wilham allegedly authorized the secret removal of valuable historical items from the Shelby County museum — without notifying the board or the public.
One neighboring historical society received an entire trailer load, while another admitted receiving at least 10 boxes containing items that were “very valuable and should have never left the museum.”
To protect what remained, the locks were changed, and the museum was temporarily closed until a new board could be elected.
But on Saturday morning, something shocking happened…
Kathleen Wilham and State Senator Cindy O’Laughlin reportedly:
🔓 Broke through the newly installed locks
🛑 Disabled the security system protecting the museum’s assets
⚖️ Did so knowing both are represented by legal counsel
This was caught on security camera.
Yes—there’s a photo.
This raises serious legal and ethical questions:
•Who gave them the authority to enter?
•Under what justification were the locks breached and the security system dismantled?
•Were any more items removed?
•Why is a sitting Missouri State Senator involved in such a reckless act?
This is not just a local museum squabble. This is about:
Public property. Public trust. Legal boundaries.
And possibly, criminal misconduct.
The people of Shelby County — and Missouri — deserve answers.
They deserve accountability.
And they deserve to have their history protected.
Will Attorney General Andrew Bailey investigate?
