Yoga teaches that when we clear out physical and mental clutter, we create space for clearer thinking, calmer emotions, and a more peaceful practice.

Think of it as a mini “reset button” for your mind and your mat.

So even a small act—washing your mat, organizing a corner, or taking a deep breath—brings a little more Saucha into your day.

Saucha is the practice of keeping both the inner and outer self clean. It’s about clearing away anything that creates heaviness—physically, mentally, or emotionally—so you can feel lighter, clearer, and more present on your path.

What does saucha mean?

Outer cleanliness: Keeping your environment, body, and belongings clean and organized.
Inner cleanliness: Clearing the mind of clutter—negative thoughts, comparisons, gossip, and overwhelm.
Energetic cleanliness: Maintaining relationships and spaces that feel peaceful and supportive.
Ways to Practice Saucha ⬇️

Keep your yoga mat and space clean.
Declutter one small area each day.
Eat foods that make your body feel nourished, not weighed down.
Practice mindful breathing to reset the mind.
Drink water and care for your body like a sacred home.
Limit things that pollute your mental space (doom scrolling, gossip, messy environments).

Aparaghraha - non-attatchment or non-grasping

Aparigraha means non-grasping, non-hoarding, or letting go of the need to cling to things, people, or outcomes. Non-possessive.

Think of it like this:

Your mind is a closet.

When it’s stuffed with “shoulds,” “what ifs,” old stories, comparison, and 37 mismatched emotional socks… there’s no room to breathe.

Aparigraha is cleaning that closet.

It’s asking:

Do I really need this?
Is this mine to hold?
Is this helping me grow, or just taking space?
In daily life:

Let go of clutter you’re keeping “just in case.”
Release comparison (yes, even yoga class neighbor doing a headstand).
Stop gripping to outcomes. Do your best, and exhale the rest.
Let go of attachment to possessions and material things
In the body on your mat:

When we cling (to tightness, to expectation of a pose), the body tightens.

When we soften the grip — breath moves, space returns.

Our Story

We offer beginners yoga, yin, buti yoga, children's yoga, advanced, mixed level & barre Classes. Rainbow is Chillicothe’s first premier yoga studio in downtown Chillicothe offering traditional yoga and hot yoga.

Rainbow has a wide variety of classes on the schedule. We made it our priority to be able to cater to all skill levels. Check description of classes out on our website.

All of our instructors are certified and have so much love and passion for what they do. We look forward to seeing you on the mat!
