🎣 Our team from Northwest Health Services went “fishing” for community members in need of healthcare and Medicaid services at last night’s Children’s Fair at the Civic Arena!

A big thank you to St. Joseph Youth Alliance and organizer LaSherrie Tyes for bringing everyone together for such a wonderful event. 💙

We had a fantastic time connecting with families, sharing resources, seeing lots of smiles—and even reconnecting with our friends from the St. Joseph Health Department!

Events like this remind us how strong our community is when we come together. 🎉

Sharing from the US Weather Service for our NHS community. Please be safe and watch for weather updates as some severe weather is predicted for our area. Be safe!

Severe weather continues to be expected this afternoon and evening. All severe hazards (large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes) will be possible. However, large hail will be the primary threat during initial stages of storm development, with damaging winds becoming more likely as storms congeal into lines or clusters. Isolated tornadoes are also possible, especially if storms remain discrete. Stay weather aware today!

During April, we remember Ryan White, a young advocate whose life changed the course of HIV awareness in the United States forever. His legacy reminds us to continue the fight against stigma and ensure access to care for all.
Ryan, a teenager living with hemophilia, contracted HIV through a blood treatment at a time when testing was not yet standard. After his diagnosis, he faced intense stigma and discrimination, including being denied access to attend middle school. Alongside his mother, Jeanne White Ginder, Ryan bravely spoke out, challenging misinformation and helping the nation better understand HIV.
He lived far beyond his initial prognosis, becoming a powerful voice for compassion, education, and change.
Ryan passed away in April 1990, just weeks before his high school graduation. Later that year, Congress passed the Ryan White CARE Act, now the largest federal program providing care and support services for people living with HIV in the United States.
Today, we honor Ryan’s legacy and continue the work to end stigma and ensure access to care for all. ❤️
