Arkansas pharmacists Kyle and Kass Lomax recently shared their experience with federal lawmakers as part of a national discussion on pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform. Their story was highlighted in a commentary supporting bipartisan legislation aimed at increasing PBM transparency, preventing below-cost reimbursement, and protecting patient choice.

By describing the financial strain caused by PBM reimbursement practices that fall below drug acquisition costs, the Lomaxes provided lawmakers with concrete, real-world examples of why legislative action is needed. Their engagement helps strengthen the case for meaningful PBM reform at the federal level and reinforces the importance of pharmacist involvement in shaping policies that affect community pharmacy sustainability and patient access to care.
